A few months ago I liked Anthony Davis and they even showed him talkin to Trae and they probably have a good friendship.

After this scandal, he now says he’s open to all 29 teams. It’s hard to trust him now.

I’m not trading Collins in a piece for him despite his immense talent.

In the end, he’s not for us at this time or even in the summer. We should sit this one out imo.

What is the scandal? I may have missed something in the stories flying around.

Are we talking about him asking for a trade and then playing in the ASG? Seems like asking for the trade now is doing the Pelicans a favor by giving them a chance to deal him with almost 1.5 years left on his deal -- which is a much better leverage position than 95% of trade demands (frequently from guys who are going to be free agents in a few months).

We should be trying to convince Durant to sign this off-season and Davis to sign in 2020. Both would be perfect fits next to what we have already in Young, Huerter and Collins.

You prefer saga? The Pelicans saga with Davis? How’s that. I’m just saying he initially says he’s a loyal guy that wants to stay with one team his whole career, then he demands a trade in the weirdest way possible, I dunno it tarnished his image in my mind.

I agree the whole thing is messy but I'm sure the Pelicans heard this behind closed doors, did nothing and his agent then took it public as the trade deadline approached so that he could try to get moved this season.

I've flagged him as a flight risk for years because New Orleans has been grossly incompetent with their team management. Figured it had to come to a head at some point unless he just didn't care about basketball. I might be more worried if he was just playing "good soldier" passively like Kevin Love. Happy with the money and that is good enough for him.

IIRC, Pels were notified on a Friday, agent went public the following Monday.

Agree with that and it’s a shame that the Pelicans couldn’t build better parts around him during his entire career because I’d much rather he stayed a Pelnfor life that be another Lakers or Celts poster boy. He might have been the last remaining guy who would stick with one team.

Hoping Trae does for us.

Based on the fine, he clearly went public when he wasn't supposed to. Not sure about the exact timeline of what was just complaining behind closed doors and when that transformed into a formal demand. I'm just speculating but I bet they knew he was very frustrated with the team's lack of development long before that Friday.

Davis is crazy if he consider going to NY, IMO.

LA with LeBron there is a different story. LeBron with another superstar is either a contender or very close to it. Definitely better than NO.

All Davis did with that "29 teams" statement was poorly try to damage control. He's not built to take the slings and arrows like James has. To be fair, it took James a long time to get to the point where he just don't care. Davis isn't there yet.

Honestly, because of that, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move away from Klutch this summer and ultimately re-sign with whatever team ends up trading for him. There's no way he goes through this same process again.
