Lol. That is one possibility. Most likely, he just wanted to play with those guys in GS and win a bit first. That was a hell of an opportunity.

I always felt the #1 objective of the Phil regime was to land KD. Which, obviously, failed. They've been courting him for a good long while.

Yeah, could you really blame KD for going to GS? If GS owner is legit and will pay close to half a billion in salary + tax and they keep everyone, could really be looking @ at least another 3-4 chips in GS. So most importantly, could you really blame KD for staying there this summer?

Despite the PJax hate here, it makes sense. KD is best player in the league now and his game will age very well. Seeing that potential couldn’t have been too hard for PJax years ago.

My common sense-ometer would have him staying in GS but it really seems like he's coming here. I guessssss I'll take him.

Agreed, which is why it’s easy to stay grounded regardless of his decision. Seemingly, signs are pointing this way, but still sticking to the requirement that he only comes to NYK w a max buddy. No chance he leaves GS and becomes the East version of LBJ in LAL, which has sadly become a disaster and almost feel sorry for the guy.

Right. Which is why concerns about Kyrie are beside the point. If you want KD, he's worth that risk.

You think perception matters to KD at all? Because I do think he wants to be looked at as better than lebron and I do think he may possibly want to redeem himself in the public eye by him trying to win elsewhere.but I do agree with you that him staying in GS is also a very real possibility.

Barring injury, KD, Kyrie, AD & DJ are favorites in the entire league by a big margin.

If we landed the anywhere outside of 1 in the lottery what would the offer to AD look like?

From the sounds of it right now and if we were to get both KD and Kyrie we would need to shed almost all salary to make it work (kinda like Miami did).

Frank, DSJ, Knox, Mitch (probably to sweeten the deal as he has very high upside), Thomas, the top pick and probably one Dal pick and one future Knick pick.

It’s always been the same regardless of #1 pick bc you must match salaries. Convo starts w Mitch regardless, throw in Knox, choice of DSJ/Frank, and another pick that depends on #1. If it is #1, you’re looking @ the protected DAL FRP or an unprotected ‘21 NYK FRP. If not, then probably the DAL unprotected FRP.

FRPs are fcking gold, NOP GM will most likely come w an analytics background and FRPs are the best way to rebuild a team so a top 4 pick this draft is going to trump anything anyone offers.

That goes wout saying and it’s even worth trading some projects and draft capital for AD. It’s all worth the risk when you get the best player in the league to finally pick NYK.

We seeing the same thing with Noah right now dudes game like fell off a cliff lol

Lmaooo that’s actually an even better example. I remember when it was a lock vonleh was gonna get 10 mill plus in FA so we had to trade him because we couldn’t afford to resign him.

come trade deadline and now nobody wants his bum ass and he’s barely even starting anymore. WE gas our prospects like crazy and have the nerve to turn our nose at legit nba superstars. this has been my whole damn point.

Damn. Now Noah is a bum? 23 year old getting major minutes for the first time in his career. I would like to think maybe he hit a wall. Kid was being asked to do too much and he's not there yet. Just because he's struggling now doesn't mean we can forget the consistency he's brought on rebounds, and defense. Cut the kid some slack.

No it needs to be within 20% of his 2019-20 salary. So essentially it needs to be at least 21.6 million of his 27 million.

One of Frank or DSJ,Knox,Mitch and salary won't cut it but with Lance Thomas added in it would.

not really. he said "for him." KP wanted a move. dallas should be a better spot "for him."

To me it sounds like KD wants to come to the Knicks, he just doesn't want to look like a bad guy. It's like you want a top position in a company, but there is another guy currently in the position. Finally company fires the other guy, and you get the position. You are happy about that, but same time feel sorry for the other guy, least you can do abut it- say "its better for him"

Lmao a sig and avi bet is so trivial. If I’m wrong and a “fraud” like you said then posting the proof should be enough for you. I don’t care about being wrong and I definitely don’t care about ya online forum signature.
