I've been wondering the same thing for a couple of months now.

Ayton is so disengaged out there. Another double-double type game but no real impact out there. Horrendous rim protection, lost on rotations, only grabs rebounds that bounce right to him.

LOL ... Again you miss the most important flaws on this team ... Ayton, Jackson, Bender, Chriss and the other young worthless draft picks we have botched picking.

seriously.... our prize pick has a flaw that may be unfixable. He plays with zero passion, zero aggression, and looks to be either intimidated to the point where he avoids confrontation, or only tries when he know he has a physical edge. Other things can be taught, his positioning, his court awareness, basic responsibilities.... these BBIQ things can be improved to a certain point. I dont think he'll ever be praised for it, but in a few years he ought to get it.

Frankly, he does not know how to play basketball. But that isnt his biggest problem. He's 'The Big Passive'.... Either we just shrug it off as being just a kid, continue the 'he's only 20 mantra', while ignoring all the other 20 yr olds who play their asses off.... or ??? What do you do? Bench him? Confront him ? Im not in tune to the phnx media, but its only a matter of time before he is publicly labeled a big puzzy. The league already knows.

I didnt miss anything, we are paying Johnson about the same as all those picks put together. We never put a solid system in place for those picks to develop. We dont hire specific coaches for those picks either. Drafting is a crapshoot, everyone drafts on the potential that those one and done players will have their potential translate well in the NBA. Put these guys on Pop's team, and you will see a different result.

Last night was the most depressed I've been about this team all year, and it was primarily due to Deandre. I've been pretty positive on him throughout the season, but last night... man, I have NEVER put that little effort into a basketball game in my life. I WORK on the court. I hit people, I body them up, make effort plays, and try to create and take advantage of opportunities on offense. Deandre wanted to be spoon-fed, and that was all. No effort on defense or offense. Sickening. Where's your f***ing head at, bro? I DON'T WANNA HEAR about how much you love KG, because there is nothing about your game that even remotely resembles the Big Ticket. GTFO with that noise. Talk about being the Alpha Male. Sheeit. You the beta's b*tch right now, Deandre.

I propose we give him the nickname Mister Softee. Anyone know how to reproduce that logo on this page? Anyone care to spread it around? I want Deandre to see that that's what people are calling him. I know he doesn't pay attention to social media, so we would need to put our backs into getting this one out there. Who's with me??

Yeah this is a major problem......I know BW said he saw this in college, and some in the media like kellerman, etc, but I don't watch college. Barely enough time to watch the suns. I think he will become a bit more assertive in his second year, and maybe a touch more in his third, but this will plague his career.

It's a good thing we were happy they had the flattened lotto odds this year since we were going to be so much better.

But it would cure the "fixing" talks if we win it two years in a row.

Winning the lottery and drafting Zion will guarantee he turns into an energy role player.

I was done with the tanking fully believing that pairing Booker with another young star will turn this team around. This franchise looks to strike out with early picks and do well with later, of course by pure luck.

Just an awful display of basketball in the second half. They don't care...so neither do I.

Absolutely this!!!

One of our biggest issues is easily player development, and that falls directly on Jones, Sarver and our front offices' negligence.

We have a very talented, yet very young and inexperienced core. And as a result, without proper mentoring and direction, they're operating under confusion and frustration as the learning curve is kicking their butts.

Now for instance, Ayton.....If our front office actually made any attempt to send him to Olajuwans' Dream Camp or Hire Garnett to work with him on his intensity, drive and agression, Or Duncan working with him on his defensive fundamentals etc. Then his progression would be remarkable.

Also hiring shooting coaches, and defensive specialists to work with Jackson and Bridges, etc. Would be incredibly important to their poise, advancement in skill and overall learning curve.

I'd like to see them bring in Paul Pierce to work with Warren and Bridges, along with Reggie Miller or Ray Allen to work on shooting with Jackson.

And especially Nash in a mentoring role for leadership, poise, passing, shooting, ball handling, and craftiness to work with Booker, Melton and Okobo.

For us to actually have an improvement in our roster, we need to properly reinvest in our core, team etc. With proper high end personnel. Now I can't imagine that this would be too expensive for Sarver to even consider???

And the payoffs for doing this to help our core evolve and progress would be immeasurable and also boost his profit returns exponentially anyways.

We overall, have had good placement in the draft, But literally no decent/proficient scouting department to identify talent properly, or recognize their potential projected fit into our roster.

For Jones to say that the draft is not a reasonable way to improve our team is a cop out and disingenuous, when you consider other front offices who have done more with lesser picks. Again it correlates to our front offices, inexperience and ineptitude. But moreover, Sarvers' unwillingness or incompetence in bringing in high quality front office personnel.

Until Sarver actually shows the willingness to do this, I don't expect the players to buy in. Also we won't be viewed a desirable destinations to free agents, much less be taken seriously as a franchise.

It begins at the top with our leadership.
