JLin interview on Danny Green podcast. Pretty good interview throughout.

Near end of interview, JLin and DG were asked some goofy questions about who they thought were the NBA players that were most like certain superheroes. When they got to Superman, DG was mentioning physically extraordinary players like LeBron and Giannis. Lin was quiet, and then he suddenly mentioned John Collins. :-). Then he went on a long discussion about how “explosive” John was, how his 20-10 numbers did not even get across his full potential, how good he had gotten at shooting the 3. DG chimed in as well about how impressive Collins had been this season, and how he looked to have bright future. Then they riffed for a while about how good ATL’s core of Trae-Collins-Huerter were looking. You could tell that JLin still feels a lot of loyalty and camaraderie with the guys. Heartwarming.

He also gave some backstory on how the rookies’ cars came to be pop corned. Rookies apparently fell down on their responsibility to bring Krispy Kreme’s for a few days running — apparently this is a Rookie responsibility on the team. And one of vets decided to take action. :-)

He also discussed how the buyout came to be. Basically his story lines up with what LP said in a recent presser. He said he really had no idea and was not looking to get bought out. He heard his name being talked about , thought he might be traded, but then that deadline passed. He was happy playing in ATL. He had a solid situation, was healthy again, liked the team. Was not looking to move. Then the night of trade deadline, Hawks had a game against Raptors, Kyle Lowry came up to him and said, so are you doing it? Or something like that, and Lin had no idea what he was talking about. Then after the game he talked to his manager, and they had heard from TOR as well as a few other teams. He said that he was not looking to leave, and probably would not have left if the opportunity had not been as good as the Raptors opportunity was.

He said he had never been traded in the middle of the season, and it was taking some adjusting. But the chance to potentially compete deep into the playoffs was too good to pass up.

Raptors play Spurs tonight on ESPN. DeRozans first game back in TOR. TOR will be trying to avenge bad loss at DeRozans hands early in season. Fans will probably be v conflicted who to cheer for. They LOVED DeRozan,
