Gortat or melo but we can afford to wait until deadline. We are pretty much locked out of 1st and 2nd place. Now it's just beat bad teams play good team close. Get home court at least 1st Rd and I think we're going to at least ec championship.

While a "need" could be to sign someone to use as salary filler in the AD trade, it might be tough for a person to sign up for that, knowing that they may not get much PT here and then they'll be packing for NO in the summer.

I'm not sure there is someone out there who could help, but if this team can't depend on Baynes to be healthy, they have a need, plain and simple. And it's not a "get an all-star" need, but it's been a glaring hole.

I heard he was just at a buffet in Vegas with Walker.

We have less than 6 days to get someone.
Let's see what Danny does.

We really need a legit backup point guard for the playoffs. Rozier is just awful.

Its obvious trying to win everything this season isn’t in Danny’s plan. We have obvious needs, but he chose to stand pat. Hope his plan doesn’t backfire for basically wasting this season.

That's only if they were waived by an NBA team this year. They can add someone else all the way up to the last day of the season. This is what happens with the guys who come back after the season ends in China.

Which means guys like Fredette and Beasley can still sign later. However, isn't there a playoff roster date, too, that's after the March 1st waiver deadline?

3 PM EST on Friday 4/12, the day before the playoffs start. The Cavaliers, most notably, have signed players like Dahntay Jones in that last couple days of the regular season.

The 3/1 deadline is just to protect against a team waiving someone in early April and that player signing with a team for the playoffs. If a player is waived after 3/1, they can still sign with a team for the rest of the regular season, they just aren't eligible to be on the playoff roster.

Bertans would have been a pretty good one and he was obviously okay with New Orleans

Yah, I was thinking the same thing. Where was Danny on this? We even had him for summer league a few years back. He's leading the Euro League at 54% from deep this season :eek2:, and is a career 47% 3pt shooter!

There's no guarantee he will and the Lakers are interested if he does.
