Who are we kidding? In the next 10 years or so, don't be surprise if A.I. would be considered a assistant coach that could replace our assistant coaches. The future is almost here where Human beings will be replaced by A.I. that can perhaps be more accurate in the job vs man. This is scary.

This all sounds good in theory, but prove to me it gives our team a real world statistical edge before I get excited. If this is just an extra tool that ultimately leads to the same level uncertainty, then what is the point?

We'll never know the particulars of how this system works, so for me, chaulk it up as a big *shrug*. I guess it's good to be progressive, though?

If this AI tracking is even 85% as accurate as in-venue hardware tracking, the amount of exclusive information that ORL has just gathered is astronomical, and not even in a sense that it's too much too handle. It'll really just pinpoint in on what each big board prospect can really do. This screams Asst. GM Matt Lloyd to me.. and Mr. Burns did the evil twitch thing hearing about it

Am I overreacting when I say we will get the next big draft steal that shows itself 20 games into the next season?

yes. teams have been using data for years, this sounds like Orlando just catching up.

also, will the AI know if a player was sick for a game on some random thursday night and thats why he shot 4-18? or that his team was decimated by injuries and he played thru an injury, which caused stats to be lower than normal, but they needed him to play? or play out of position because the team needed it. this is just one thing in a big bucket of things for scouts/teams to look at.

More like Orlando has just passed everyone else

A prospect scored from STATS that has a bad score delivered to us will most likely be a bust on another team because they don't have STATS and its only the Orlando Magic that do.
