Seems suspiciously coincidental that you’re asking as the information is made available. No, he’s not.

Going to be evaluated before Saturday’s game against the Warriors, if he doesn’t play in that then I’ll begin to get worried. It’s the game of the week on ABC. Hoping they’re just being extra cautious for it.

Is it the knee he tore his meniscus in?

Yeah, doesn't have a precautionary feel to it anymore.

So he probably did hurt himself all star weekend. Cool.

Now that you mention it, I believe so. Also, having googled, the unraveling of information leading up to that news was eerily similar.

EDIT: Just for clarification tho, MRI revealed no structural damage this time around - hopefully that’s actually the case.

Didn't they miss the tear 2 years ago in a previous MRI? Not trying to raise the panic level prematurely but just trying to remember that whole ordeal.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

You had mentioned that he would be available for the OKC game I believe. Are they just being extra cautious again? Just wondering what could be wrong. Has he suffered a setback? Do you see this as another case of the Sixers doctors misdiagnosing their player injuries, only for it to be worse as time goes by?

From my recollection, they found a small tear that was supposed to be able to heal on it's own (atleast that's what BC said). BC claimed Embiid made it worse by playing in the Rockets game.

without Embiid last season we won at Utah, at Denver, at Charlotte, at Detroit, also beat Miami, Cleveland, Milwaukee (by 35, including 46-18 1st quarter), and in the playoffs we beat Miami by 27, and now with the additions of Butler and Harris we can surely beat OKC :onfire:

lol, last year Utah, Denver, Charlotte, and Detroit simply were not good. Miami and Milwaukee also weren't great. People romanticize that stretch but we played a very easy schedule.

Lol a Donavon Mitchell inspired Utah "weren't good"? So how did they reach the SECOND ROUND of the western conference playoffs then? :D

We played Utah on the road in November. In that game Mitchell had 8 points. The Jazz were currently 5-6.

That doesn't mean they weren't good. Our record against them is good and we beat them twice this year. Yet they beat the Celtics twice this year while we obviously struggle against them. It's a style thing.

Maybe they are counting on okc loss with or without embiid. It’s a road game. And sixers have lost x straight to thunder anyways.

If embiid isn’t ready for warriors Saturday night. I’d start to get concern the knee is bothering him more more than we are lead to believe originally. Especially with his injury history.

Someone like giannis sits out a game for knee soreness. Usually not concern.

But embiid has had 2.5 weeks rest in the past 4 weeks now.

Not sure what that even means :/

Anyway, I agree with the others here, if he is out for Golden State game I would be officially concerned about his availability and general health this season. He clearly had to have been hurt in the All Star Game yet played anyway.
This is why we just can't have nice things. :(

Obvious thought of the day: It's not good Embiid is out for the OKC game. Gotta break out the Jump to Conclusions Mat.

He's played 1 half hearted training run in an all-star game in 2 weeks and is resting as a "precaution" and people are thinking there is nothing to worry about.

It was never precautionary. If there was no structural damage (as they claim) then you can't really hurt it further... soreness you can play through and we all should know by know Joel will play no matter how sore he feels.

As it stands the team looks like they've never played with each other before (which they really haven't).. we have a 4th star we need to integrate... almost the entire bench of got flushed out and replaced... and there are only 21 games left in the season... and the most important player in the team is resting his feet up for soreness (apparently). We're kind of running out of time to get it all together.

If Joel doesn't play against Golden State then it pretty much confirms something is up.

It never did. Havent heard a peep from Jo about being sat against his will and you don't get an MRI for freaking scheduled rest. People are delusional.

However that being said this has nothing to do with the medical staff, they aren't the ones releasing press statements. The front office is still a bunch of snakes that is never transparent about injuries. Never forget that they announced Joel as out for the year the day after season ticket renewals were due. The less you hear the worse i believe it to be.

Its my understanding Joel told the team he's been experiencing soreness in his knee, which I imagine prompted the MRI. I don't think this was ever meant to be a scheduled rest period.
