It did happen rather quickly, he was a 30 year old superstar on a HOF path right up to the point the Jays acquired him. He was also coming off his best season, .340 with a 170 OPS+.
Kudos to the Rockies for trading him at the perfect moment.

IF you think he was anything less than a great player in Colorado, I don't know what to say. Park effect or not, he was on a HOF path up to the moment the Jays acquired him. A two-way SS with power. Injuries derailed his career, not switching ballparks. He wasn't fully healthy during 2015 when the Jays first acquired him and it only got worse from there.
It's unfortunate that Jay's fans never got to see Tulo at his peak but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
