pretty much. i won the nets O/U but got smacked on my parlay and my punt bet.

tomorrow is another day though :(

The sun will rise again. I had a horse yesterday, it was favourite with a ‘come second and get paid as the winner’ promo. Jockey had it caught up in traffic the whole trip, came home hard and finished 3rd, a nose behind 2nd. It’s a mugs game, house always wins.

I've never done horse racing, how have you fared in it?

I just bet the promos. Probably come out slightly ahead over time, its more just for **** and giggles.

Would be the greatest revenge for that trade ever.

It would also be the best argument you could give Kyrie for signing with us.

if yall want a good laugh, read this thread. There are RealGMers who think they can drop buckets in an NBA game. This entire thread has me in tears.

From the Late Night Editorial Dept:

It's mighty tempting to gleefully revel in the Lakers crash-and-burn season, but honestly, I don't think it's quite as bad as it looks. Because much like the Nets, they were never going to knock off their conference's elites this season, or likely get even close to that. On the plus side, I suspect they also got a pretty good picture of what worked and what didn't work this season, trying to build around LeBron with somewhat novel methodologies. And now they have this summer to significantly change course and significantly upgrade. Cool.

At the same time, it's getting harder to conceive of this funny experiment one day actually working. Not just because LeBron (as amazing as his health & conditioning programs are) will continue to drift out of his prime, but also because he's surrounded by such relentless mediocrity at almost every level of the org, from Jeanie Buss, to Magic, to Hluke Hwalton, to LeBron's current castmates... to LeBron's own GM abilities.

Now I can totally see the team 'getting it all together' in the next 1-3 years or so, yet that still not being nearly enough against the West's best. Which isn't any kind of tragedy, honestly, but it does seem like a particularly underwhelming way for one of the greats to go out. Or maybe we're just spoiled and kinda rubbernecking, here. But IMO seldom does a player pull your undivided attention towards their actions the way LeBron consistently does, for better or worst. Methinks this is going to be a pretty awkward ride, no matter how it plays out, exactly.

The Lakers' woes are funny as hell. I'm sorry. Magic badmouthed our guy and now looks like a fool. I love it.

I don't know what that guy's even doing in that position. Zero sports executive experience, and supposedly Jerry West was available at the time and wanted to come back.

How does something like that happen?

Seeing him on Twitter and ABC should have been enough to disqualify him from the job.

It's due to the fallacy that former basketball greats make great executives and coaches. Most of them don't.

Funny how that's one of the first things you learn as a sports fan, yet owners and execs seem to keep falling in to that trap.

But I do find the Busses in particular to be some mighty fine comedians, turning away the greatest coach of all time and then a couple years later, one of the greatest execs of all time.

Sibling rivalry can be a bitch, I guess.

watching this pacer/sixers game further cements that id rather play philly then indy. i just cant see us beating indy. they are too good defensively. Turner is probably defensive player of the year and Oquinn might be a top 10 defensive center himself off the bench. and they all play hard like we do.

philly has stars but their bench stinks and they are not a mentally tough team... yuo can see the effects of tanking in their attitude and effort. butler/harris obviously change alot, but their bench is still complete trash.

LOL at this guy. You can’t get any support from Knick fans or Net fans? What a total loser. Just quit.

Is he one of those guys who gets paid in proportion to being obnoxious and reactionary?

I think I read in the coverage on that Dolan-fan incident, that Bondy was one of the journalists banned from Knicks facilities. Maybe one of the very few times Dolan did something rational.

. Which current players even played for the Sixers during their tanking years? Not sure you can accuse Embiid, Simmons and McConnell for lacking effort and attitude.

Nevertheless, the Nets are a horrible matchup for the Sixers on their defensive end. P&R drop coverage opens up so many off the dribble threes for Dinwiddie, Russell and LeVert.
