I am also losing hope for wiggs, he kept saying next year next year next year... this is his first year on the contract in order to trade wiggins we should be ready to take a bad contract... The nets is a possible destination.. but we have to take Crabbe. or charlotte for marvin williams and dwight howard

Re: Andrew Wiggins and the wolves future
If he is in a Timberwolves Jersey next season it will be proof that I am living in a Truman-esque world where my favorite basketball team plays the worst basketball player in the NBA nearly 40 Minutes per Game. I'm actually dumbfounded how any of the coaches still have jobs considering how many minutes Wiggins gets. The fact that he gets more than 0 minutes on the Timberwolves is a complete slap in the face to the fan base.

Losing hope? You must be the only one with any left. I used to wear this frauds jersey and sold it at a market for $2. What a passive clueless piece of s**t.. I really feel sorry for KAT & Saunders

Does anyone have the bit where Wiggins says he doesn’t dunk any more because he’s too old?

It's just so depressing to think about, he has gifts he just doesn't have the motor and honestly doesn't look like he really cares most of the time.

Re: Andrew Wiggins and the wolves future
With RoCo injured, what this team lacks is a good spot up shooter....when KAT gets doubled or tripled, he can find the open guy on perimeter...but the problem is no one in our current starting lineup is a catch and shoot guy...KAT might probably be the best spot up 3 point shooter in our starting lineup rn lol...Teague refuses to take open 3's most of the time...same with Tyus, Okogie(Josh is much better now in that aspect when compared to few months ago where he used to hesitate taking 3's)...Rose prefers to drive or take a 2...Toliver is probably the only guy who doesn't hesitate but he hasn't played many minutes... can't wait to have RoCo back...we also need to find another guard/wing in this off-season who is a good spot up shooter (either in FA or draft)

He's just not that good. Basically a super athletic, physically gifted guy with no real talent for the game. No level of coaching or criticism will turn him into a good player. It's like a guy who is really tough, can hit like a mac truck, and is really nimble on his feet. Got all the physical tools to be a great boxer but with zero mental ability/know how. In HS his physical gifts were so great they compensated for everything. In college he was still able to dominate with them. NBA, he can't keep up.
Yep. He's an athlete above all. He doesn't possess a good basketball IQ, he doesn't possess good basketball skills and he doesn't seem to work very hard. He's an athlete that bamboozled a franchise out of $150 million.

as a longtime wolves fan, I'm used to suffering, but when I think about the very real possibility that Wiggins will be on the team for years to come......

The worst part though is that he seems to be getting worse. There’s no indication he will ever be close to worth a max contract, but it would be nice if he would actually improve.

I know Ryan loves Wiggins, but if he continues to play him 30 plus minutes he might be out of a job.

Between Thibs and Taylor it is sheer incompetence.
Thibs had a year plus to scout this kid and still decided to come here. Combined w the consistent big minutes he gave Wiggs, the max contract and the related Butler fallout, its really makes him look clueless.
Glen Taylor is also a clueless hack but everybody already knew that. Thibs buffonery hurts more as he had a reputation for really knowing his Xs and Os.
The next coach has to be a success or we will lose KAT.

I don`t place the blame on Ryan for that, I don`t believe he wants to play him a single minute, but as a coach you just can`t affort not to play your 4 yrs 150 mil 24 y.o. healthy N1 pick. I remember the day I opened this very site and saw we actually gave this fruit a max and lost all hope. Its sad for KAT (and all of us ofc), its a bit like wathing KG struggle all over again. Back in the days I tried to convince people that potential is just a cute word, its all about what production is shown throughout performance. Wiggins first 4 years were nothing short of disaster, but yet people hanged on this imaginary promice a.k.a potential. I hope you are pleased now, as the lottery has nothing but potential in it. This franchise is a joke and my unreasonable fandom really has to stop soon.

Please note that so far this season he has been W-A-Y B-E-L-O-W this trajectory (the post is from exactly 1 year ago, its his 5th year.)
Read the article here - https://dunkingwithwolves.com/2018/03/22/andrew-wiggins-a-statistical-analysis-of-his-present-state-and-whats-to-come/
I offer another uplifting comparison Andrew Wiggins - Corey Brewer.

Now lets just take a look at the great 2016-17 season Andrew had (you will see him real fast, the very bottom guy) - https://public.tableau.com/profile/nba.math5647#!/vizhome/2016-17TPAfor2017-18NBATeams/2016-17TPAfor2017-18NBATeams
And so far this season (as posted in the stats threat)
Thats a 150 M of potental right here.

Not adressing you at all. I was talking about the people who ignored evidence (4 years of stats on Wigg) because they love their potential.

Remember the old days when people actually thought Wiggins would be better than LaVine? Those days seem so long ago...

If you don't think Glen Taylor isn't forcing his employees to try to make his 150 million dollar investment work I don't know what to tell you. There's a reason why some franchises do well over the long term and why some don't and it's usually linked to the owner and their philosophy on how to run a franchise. The only reason this franchise made the playoffs was that the owner TOOK HIMSELF OUT OF THE EQUATION to hire a coach/FO by going to a consultant, but once that was done Glen once again pushed his ideas onto his employees(FO/Coaching staff). A franchise just doesn't have over a decade plus of bad luck, there's someone driving too many different decisions to cause that to happen.
The best thing this franchise can hope for is that Ryan(if he's retained as head coach) or the next FO/coaching staff can make Glen Taylor believe in their ideas, sell him on what needs to be done but I'm not sure that can be done(although Thibs being hard headed did get somethings done, Taylor seemed very much against D.Rose on the minimum last year and of course as some have mentioned, allowing Rubio to be moved). Taylor not only took Wiggins out of trade talks when Chicago wanted him when trying to trade for Butler, he went to the media to basically beg Wiggins to sit down and sign a max contract, not the GM, not the POBO, not the coach, the owner did this. Not to mention Taylor telling owners to bring offers to him if they didn't think the FO was being fair when trading Butler. Minnesota's #1 problem isn't Wiggins, it's Taylor.

Re: Andrew Wiggins and the wolves future
What team could we realistically dump Wiggins on still?
My first thoughts are Charlotte or Memphis but I have my doubts with either agreeing to take on that length of contract. Charlotte deal would involve Batum and Memphis deal would involve Parsons.
At the beginning of the year I thought Sacramento, Atlanta, or Chicago could be prime candidates but I think Atlanta is developing faster than expected although still a ways away and Chicago and Sac went and got their overpaid SF's in Barnes & Porter. Both upgrades over Wigg
Other teams that come to mind are Phoenix, Cleveland or New Orleans but it would probably require us giving up at least 1 1st for them to take on the contract. No way any team trying to contend now or within the next 2 years traded for Wiggins.

You mean the he’s just 21, he’s just 22 apologists no one is using the age as an excuse anymore.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
