Got a feeling if no one else gets bought out. Masai is gonna just grab Pau. Doesn't hurt. Pau = Monroe

I would be interested in him mainly for his vet and locker-room presence...and it would make Marc happy as well (I think).

Yeah exactly.
Adding another veteran champion is only beneficial to the team.

I mean we can always pick up Monroe again, but I'd much rather have Pau.

Pau to the Bucks lmaooo

Read on Twitter

Oh well. He's nothing more than a Greg Monroe level player at this stage of his career.
He'll help their team with his veteran presence and leadership though.
Good add for the Bucks.

Wow Pau Gasol has been cut loose. It is a no brainer to add him to Toronto, although I think it is highly probable that a team like Golden State would be attractive.

I'd love to add a guy with his IQ and honestly he know Kawhi and Danny well. Masai also pursued him years ago. To have the two Gasol brothers would be incredible even though I don't think the front court has much space for another C.

/edit Guess he is with the Bucks. They are loading up. Mirotic and Gasol know each other from the national team. It will be interesting if Toronto meet Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference Finals. Gasol vs. Gasol.

This could be better than an episode of Kenny versus Spenny.

Is this the last day to be bought out in order to be playoff eligible?

Yes. Players need to be bought out or waived by midnight tonight to be eligible for a playoff roster.

Like I have said before, it doesn't mean Toronto will not look for guys after this deadline. There are still a bunch of games left and they may want to run with some guys to see if they are worth looking at for next year.

I don't know who else may be negotiating a buyout, but DeAndre Jordan is a possibility, or even Robin Lopez. I'd still like Toronto to target a shooter/scorer. I wish Jeff Green was a candidate.

I believe players overseas or G league only contracts can still be signed for the playoffs if there is no one else bought out.

I did not know that. It is an interesting wrinkle. There are a few G-League guys with pretty substantial NBA experience:

Willie Reed (C with some offense)
Deandre Liggins (3 and D wing)
Jordan McRae (wing scorer)
Alex Caruso (defensive PG
Josh Huestis (defensive SF)
Terrence Jones (hybrid SF/PF)
Anthony Bennett (hybrid SF/PF)

Out of that bunch I like McRae. He is such a good scorer (tops in G-League) that I think is on the cusp of being in the NBA.

I have always liked Tarik. Just a strong defender and a dunk machine. He could be a like a mini Biyombo for Toronto.

Deadline has passed.

This is the roster we will be finishing the season with.

Looks like Meeks didn't receive another 10 day.

We can still resign Meeks. His 10 day contract resets our clock and gives us 2 weeks to wait before needing to sign another player to meet the minimum roster requirement of 14 players. We might wait the full 2 weeks to maximize our tax savings. If Meeks is still available, he might get another 10 day or a rest of the season contract.

We’re thin at C and PF. Another body would’ve been nice.
