I hope he's not a part of the future. Always felt he was a redundant signing with Ball literally in the same mold.

Lakers need shooters and defenders, badly. Rondo provides neither at this point and it's like he's a great character/leader type. Rondo needs to go.

—Real Plus Minus has him at -3
—Lakers are almost -6 per 100 with him on court (top 3 lotto type team)
—Lakers are almost 6 points per 100 worse with him on court than off.

ANY team that wants to give Rondo more than spot minutes is asking for losing minutes. He has been a negative on court and has made his team worse when on court for seven straight seasons. There is no context or lineup “this and that” that can explain it away. He doesn’t do anything that a modern guard needs to do to be effective in today’s game.

Had Ball not gotten injured in that Rockets game when he was finally hirtin*his stride and making an impact, this Lakers team thsts fallen apart would have gone to the playoffs,
