Something was wrong with Russ his teammates outrebounded him
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

I actually went to this game tonight but had to leave after the 3rd quarter so I missed the comeback. Weird game. Building and the team were mostly dead. There's more energy and atmosphere in the average NCAA DII game than what we saw in 3 quarters in OKC. Glad to gutted one out and won in the end. That would have been a real, real bad loss.

The Russell Westbrookiest game that Russell Westbrook ever Russell Westbrooked.
It had everything. The great, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Credit to Steven Adams for being great on the boards. That low key may have been the thing that won the game. The game was an offensive atrocity, but securing the boards and getting to the FT line gives you a chance especially considering that Memphis was never going to be able to pull away.

I’ll take the win no matter how ugly it is. If for no other reason than guys need to know that it’s “possible” to win a game that PG doesn’t play in. Relying on Paul George to Superman this team to victory isn’t sustainable. Guys need to learn how to take initiative. Gotta give Nader a ton of credit for that this game. As ugly as the offense was, at least he went out and tried to get his and not sit around waiting for the ball.

Props to Billy. Playing one of the smallest guys on the league on a 2 or 3 spot defending wings, getting great backup C at the deadline and playing him 8 mins, finally after years finding good talent in 2nd round, who had a great year start, benching him to the grounds.

This team right now looks like a huge pile of ...

Great success.

This little bad stretch OKC is going through is just the ebb and flow of an 82 game NBA season. Their defense has been crap for some time now but remember once the playoffs start the refs allow way more contact and the game shrinks which will completely change the way they look and I would imagine Donovan will have the rotations down well enough that they will be into a good rhythm and Morris is going to help dramatically since he's replacing the pathetic Patterson. Imagine if they had Morris to guard Favors in the 1st round last year against Utah. OKC had no answer for him and that guy killed us. I don't understand why Burton isn't getting minutes and I just assumed after watching him get 18 against Portland he would become a 15-18 minute per game type of rotational player but for some reason they have this bizarre insistence on ballooning Ferguson's minutes way past where he should be playing (he should be around 24) and they continue to go with Nader who has been much less consistent. Other than Burton and this little bad stretch of games the team looks pretty good going forward. Great comeback win against Memphis, too. I thought they were dead in the water.

I think in their minds, they are already in the playoffs. Can't blame them really. The West is so tight that the seedings barely even matter. You can be 3rd seed and play the damn Rockets in the first round. Or you can be 6th and play the Portland. You can be 5th and get the Spurs or you can be 4th and get the Jazz.

It's really crazy....

Such an ugly game of basketball, I honestly fastforwarded about half of it because it was just a chore to watch. Almost losing to the Grizzlies at home without their two best players is bad. This is a downright terrible team without PG13. Westbrook looked just terrible on offense until the last two minutes, careless with the ball, bad shot after bad shot, way subpar passing, and Schroder could well be the worst player in the league since the All-Star break, he is bricking everything (38.7 TS%) but he keeps chucking. Good thing Adams dominated the boards otherwise you might have ended with 84 points or something.

When is PG13 coming back?

Yeah they probably cooled it down after losing to the Nuggets. It's still important to have HCA though (even more against great home teams like Utah and Portland)
I really wanted that 3rd seed to avoid the Warriors in a playoff series before the WCF but I will be fine if we get past the first round so I don't care anymore.

I'm assuming you're referring to his post game jersey swap with Delon Wright. They are from the same town in LA and went to the same high school. Russ is good friends with both the Wright brothers.
