idk if dpipm overrates mitch's impact since the team has no defense without him.

Haven't read the article yet, but Defensive Demigod is a nice nickname for Mitch. He can have several, as it's sort of long.

Mitch , man. Love it. Getting ready to have my heart broken again in an AD trade tho.

Amazing watching his hands track the ball on the blocks. He goes up, follows the ball all the way until release and then swats. Almost as if he is seeing the game in slow mo in those moments.

Nice article about Mitch.

Q: If you could go one-on-one with any big man in NBA history to test your skills, who would you want to play against?
A: I’ll probably say … probably Bill Russell. … He’s one of the greatest that played this game.

The team does better when the offense moves through Mitch. I wonder if fiz has noticed that yet. Guys (Mudiay especially) try and force their own shots and it ends up not working. Using Mitch as the focal point of attack opens everything up. I wonder if his shoulders are ready to carry that weight?

Dont think he's ready for that. Hes already 300% past what most were expecting from him to this point. I think he'll get some games where you see him as the true focal point but I think that will be towards the very end of the season.

He is not a mere mortal. He is da gawd!! Block party every night! I watched the dude get up off of the floor by the basket and run out to block a 3 pt shot!! He was laying on the floor 20 feet away!!! This kid is a keeper. If anyone uses his name in any trade talks...perma ban them immediately!!!

I would not trade Mitch for AD. Was AD ever this good guarding the Perimeter? Never. This kid has DPOY written all over him and wants to be GREAT. Not every player is born with that gene. He's super efficient without needing the ball. You need 2-3 players like that in your lineup. It makes the offense run so much smoother. Right now, we really only have 1 guy in Mitch who can become that. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes into next season with a consistent 3-point shot. He's been putting in the work after games. I have no doubt he''ll be able to do it.

I agree. Most of the guys we have now don't seem to understand that Mitch can make the game much easier for them them. They keep trying to make their own shots and forcing ****. Running it through Mitch is like a cheat code. He's a official love threat. No one sagging away from him on the roll to the basket and now it seems like doubles are coming to him when he does it. All Mitch has to do is find the open man.

I was just thinking of nicknames this weekend. I like Block Ness Monster a lot.

Best I thought of was recycling "Sultan of Swat(s)"

So, obviously there are games left and also it helps Mitch to be playing less than more minutes, but right now, Mitch is on pace for 4th best FG% in NBA history

Mitch at .703

It may sound crazy, but I agree. There is a huge salary difference as well. Mitch + an extra $26-$35mil.

Drafting Mitch + signing him to that contract has been Perry's best move so far.
