I know I'll get the same phone at I believe the same price, but didn't know if there was any benefit one way vs the other vs the other?

So, just from personal experience, I'd avoid third party dealers and go straight to the Apple Store unless there was a significant financial benefit to the third party. The reason for that is because the folks at the Apple Store are actually supposed to know their product inside and out and can manage any Apple-related issues directly.

That's a good call - thanks. I'll go that route.

I don't think it's the best but it's enjoyable and probably better than the games that came after it. Also probably fair to say, though, that if you don't like this one you probably wouldn't care all that much for even the best of the series.

I can't speak to if it's a good place to start as a FF game (never played any), but I've heard the Switch port is kind of shoddy. Sounded like it had bugs, or bugs that were plaguing previous ports and not fixed, so it was viewed as kind of a sloppy cash grab.

If you're looking for a JRPG with a great narrative that is action-based instead of turn-based like FF, Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition would be a good bet.

It's a port of the mobile game, not a port of the original. Which, it sounds like, lead to many of the problems in the Switch version.

FWIW, I also think it's possible to dislike 9 and still like others in the series. TBH if I had to go with a 'start here' for Final Fantasy, I dunno, I guess I still think 7 is the right place to start. 6 or 10 would also be good.

If you just need a JRPG to play, I'd still highly recommend Octopath Traveler. I'm 50+ hours in and it's what I play when I travel. I love it.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War is fun. Another game I dismissed upon release for reasons I don't remember. I loved the **** out of the first one.

So the Apple store jacked up my transfer. Honestly not sure if it was them or just the process in general, but I lost a bunch of texts (fortunately I still have them on my old phone, but it's pretty important to me to have them on my new phone) and my photos are all out of order. Hopefully it's something they can correct... maybe not a big deal to a lot of people, but it's really bothering me (I'm too sentimental and OCD for my own good I think).

Damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. FWIW, I doubt the third party would have done any better in managing those kinds of issues - they usually one-size-fits-all software to do those transitions instead of stuff made for the iPhone. However, I'm guessing that the different OSs between the 6s and whatever you bought is why the transfer was a challenge.

Is there any way you can just download those things onto your computer from your old phone and transfer them over manually?

Since you still have your old phone, are you able to create a backup on iCloud or iTunes? Then you can reset your new phone and restore from backup.

In your case, I would do an iTunes backup of your old phone and restore your new phone. I think you'll lose what you've done since switching to the new one, but you'll pick up right where you left off on your old one.

Yup, I just upgraded a month ago. Did a backup of my iPhone on the old one and when I logged into my iTunes account I got everything. I don't delete texts either, so I have conversations dating back a loooong time.

Apparently, 3/10 is Mario Day so a bunch of Mario Games are on sale at Best Buy, Walmart, Target for digital download.

Most notable, since it came out less than 2 months ago, NSMBD or whatever it's called (the new "old" Mario game) will be $40. I'll be picking it up.

Cool, thanks guys, I really appreciate the tips. I know it probably shouldn't, but this has really been bothering me all day. I have some pics and texts from my stepdaughter that if I lose, or can't move over properly, I might break down. Seriously, the tips are genuinely appreciated.

Nah, you shouldn’t need to explain or justify to anyone. You have good reasons. I keep all texts and pics.

Sorry - remedial question, when I go into reset, I would select the Erase All Content and Settings option...correct?

The IX port isn’t great, but it’s still very playable. If you’re starting I recommend X or XII remake. They are both modern and X is probably the best blend of story/gameplay while XII is more fun but has a admittedly weak main cast.

If you like either of them I’d recommend VI-IX-VII.

I haven't gotten it yet. I've got an S8. I've heard bad things online about the S9 update.
