I went earlier in the season and thought the same thing. I was ready to drop $200 and couldn't find anything that I liked. They need to do more of the city and earned edition as well.

Seemed pretty not-great, at least those that I found. Is the biggest one the one that has outside access? If so, that's a little disappointing.

I saw literally 0 Earned Edition gear. I love that jersey. Big missed opportunity there.

The Bucks pro shops are terrible. If you go to any other arena in the league, you can buy any jersey of any player. Bucks need to step it up.

The stuff they have online now is so much nicer than it used to be, but buying from pro shops online sucks. There's some stuff I'd want to get and much like jmart I was ready to spend a lot if I found the right stuff, but I left with nothing.

I just hate ordering from pro shops. Maybe it's being spoiled by bigger retailers, but having to ship back within 30 days from ship date, request return postage be sent to you, still pay for shipping, etc. Blech. No thanks.

I'm gonna go to the Tailgate on State Street at some point while I'm here and see if they have anything.

I give it 5 years before our pro shop is as big as the Packers /green

But seriously, it's gotta improve sooner than later with some team success, right? I want real options, not bs fanatics crap (though I rep a lot from there, they just suck more often than not).

Obviously other factors that don't need to be discussed on this forum played into us getting picked, but this is a huge win for those supporting the stadium. I don't think we get picked without a new stadium and this will bring a lot of money/attention into the city for a couple weeks.

Yep. I had $100 burning a hole in my pocket when I was there Thursday. Just wanted a hoodie, preferably city-edition. There was literally nothing I liked. So I kept my $100 and bought one online.

Yes, NO political discussion on this. Thanks in advance for me not spending time suspending and cleaning up this thread.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I was surprised too at the lack of variety. I like the earned edition stuff but couldn't really find anything. I thought that was the whole point of having alternate jerseys, to sell related merchandise. I'm not a jersey wearer but I'd buy a shirt or hat.

Totally. Very big win for tourism in the area, as well. This will draw a lot of people, obviously.

Shouldn't matter your political persuasion, having Milwaukee on the international stage, in a way it has never been before, should be exciting for everyone, and there's no way this happens if we don't have the arena.

I'd be curious to know whether it was ever really up for debate given who one of our owners is and his relationship with people who have very strong pull within the Democratic party.

I'm sure there are real concerns about lodging. I wonder if a new large hotel is going to go up within a year on the BC site.

I had heard that assuming we got the convention that the BC/BC parking structure area would be used as a temporary outdoor space for the convention before being developed afterwards.

I believe the idea is for Madison hotels to act as overflow. I work for a destination marketing organization and I know our CEO had a meeting with Alex Lasry about the convention. Not sure what other told Madison might play, but I'd imagine lodging is a big one.

That's interesting. I'm seriously considering renting my house out for that week. I'd just have to get my wife on board.

Is the DNC any bigger than a Harley rally?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I wonder how quickly they will flatten the BC. If it is true they are just going to have a plaza area with temporary outdoor space, it would be amazing if they can have it done by May for the Finals. I could see 50k people outside the arena if we are in the finals and publicized enough for a huge outdoor viewing area on a nice May day.

They are really moving along on the deconstruction, but wonder if there is more to it than clearing the space and putting cement on it for 2 years.

Look like it was 150k visitors. I bet we get that much from the DNC. Looked like Harly generated 9 figures for the city and you could tell it was a big deal to local businesses.

The big difference is the money and publicity for the city. Most Americans will be able to tell you that the DNC is happening in Milwaukee. The average American had no idea Harley Fest was going on in the fall. The people coming for the DNC also bring a lot more money with big events for donors and networking. Harley fest is a big deal for the city as is, this is even bigger.

One thing with the Harley rally(s), thousands of them camp over the 5 County area. That won't happen with the convention.

As mentioned above the BC area will be used as a staging area and development will begin after.
