Yep I like the risk as these are young guys that can still get better as opposed to guys getting their 3rd/4th contract. However, now they have to hit on players in the draft. Still need another safety, WR, Tackle, ILB, TE. If he can find a couple playmakers in the draft this will be a huge success.

I genuinely have zero idea how good any of these players are. That's how disconnected I've been getting from the NFL the past year or two.

I'm okay with the risk. It was time to try something new. Ted had his way with success but fell off a cliff. Gutey is doing his way. Guess we'll see what we get but this is exciting!

Pettine coaxed 10.5 sacks out of fackrell with the corpse of clay on the other side. What will he be able to do with Both Smith's and fackrel?

Idk if its an overpay. But 33rd out of 77 from previous post about his rank. Slightly above average.

18th salary rank. 7 mill per.

So.....little overpay. I wonder why we signed him to that much?

Not trying to pick on anyone but I don't understand why everyone keeps referencing the total deal amounts. NFL reporters are guilty of this too. It's all about how much of the deal is guaranteed money/being paid in the first couple years.

They have to have him penciled in as a starter. Now way your signing him to that contract for depth purposes

Everyone is guilty of it. I try to look at the cap hits on a per year basis as even "guaranteed" money that gets listed isnt also necessarily guaranteed.

Admittedly though cap information isnt disclosed yet so here we are.

I forgot my phone charger at home. Ran to the gas station to get one of those super cheap ones that will stop working tomorrow.

I feel like there's very little happy medium when it comes to fans and media talking about NFL contracts. On one hand you can't look at the total figure because those are often super misleading but on the other hand some media go too far and only count guaranteed money and thats not exactly right either because if a guy plays well and sticks around a few years then he will get a good portion of the non-guaranteed money too. It's especially true with the contracts for good QB's who rarely ever get cut early in their deals.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Cordarrelle? I'm a big fan. He's not a good route runner but if you force-feed 5-10 touches to him/game you get some big plays. And you can use him as a battering ram if teams go to smaller personnel like the Pats did last year.

You definitely have to look at the final contract/guaranteed money, plus who we cut as a result before giving a final opinion.

As a reference point TJ Lang got 19 million guaranteed from the Lions, and that was a ton for a guard.

But still reason to think positively today, that's for sure.
