GT #69 Hornets @ Wizards 7:00 PM
Wizards continue the playoff/tank race against the Charlotte Hornets who they are 1-2 against this season.
Some notes from the last game
- Wizards won 3 out of 4 against Orlando, 2nd straight season
- Beal was the ONLY starter scoring over double. 3 out of 4 players came off the bench. The Wizards are 3-11 with 4 players scoring in double figures.
- Parker, Bryant, Randle and Brown combined for 59 points (2nd most of the season and 24 rebounds.
- Jabari Parker has a sky hook similar to Kareem.
- Bryant played Vucevic tougher given that he was bigger and quicker on the defensive end.
-Our non Beal starters combined 5-30 from the field. Meanwhile, Parker and Bryant combined 17-23
- Troy Brown is playing well. People want to blame Brooks for not playing Brown but perhaps it was best for him to develop in the G-League. Although now the Wizards look foolish for not getting a Developmental team sooner like like the Spurs.
- DJ Augustine for Orlando had a great game- remiiscient of the 2014 Bulls series where he played against the Bulls. Steve Buckhantz said he was going to walk out of the game.
- 3rd quarter- Washington only 15 points as they couldn't knock down 3s. Got back to paint in the 4th quarter
- Wizards didn't get help with Miami blowing out the Pistons in the playoff race. And other tanking teams like the Kings and Lakers lost.

Let's hope Portis gets 30+ minutes tonight.

The defense is horrid. They can't get a single stop.

Wizards cut a 22 point deficit to 7. The tank is stalling!

Randle starting the 2nd half over Sato. Is Sato hurt?

Beal has really been remarkable today. It's a shame to see him playing on a losing team.

Wizards are a bad team. They play the right way, just low on talent. Its not tank here, they're just a lowly nba team.

Wizards with a very big lineup on the floor: Beal, Ariza, Green, Parker, Portis.

Satoransky was pushed into a Beal drive in the first half and got hit in the head. I'm not sure, but I don't see him on the bench right now.

You point out an MLE-cost free agent who would be an upgrade and I'm all ears.

End of 3rd, down 95-78. Please Brooks, just play Randle/Brown/Dekker/Johnson/Mahinmi rest of the game (Beal has already played 33 mins...).

He's being evaluated for a concussion. I kinda figured he got one the moment the collision happened. Tough blow.

I'll just keep re-posting this

Yes. I know those exist. But who is going to trade us a player better than, say, Jeff Green, that has a contract that will fit into that $5.4M Trade Exception?
And what MLE player are we going to sign who is better than Jabari Parker?
I'm not saying keep everyone. I just want to bring back Sato, Bryant and Parker. I'd consider keeping Ariza, Green and Dekker, but only for minimum contracts, or maybe up to $3-4M or so.
I would not keep Portis at his likely price.
