All this team does is win when Wiggins and Towns are missing anyway.

You're coming around. If KAT is at any risk of additional injury no way will the Wolves put him on the court. So IF HE PLAYS it means he is fine.

If he plays and has a major injury it will be someones job and million told you so's.. There really is no reason to push it unless its 100%

Any player can get a major injury any time they step on the court. They can also get injured in a car accident (KAT) or killed in a car accident (Malik Sealy). Professional sports doctors should be able to determine if a player is healthy enough to play. The Wolves doctors have no incentive whatsoever to declare KAT ready to play if he isn't. If KAT doesn't play it could save the Wolves I thought about 40 million in actual cash, salary cap, and improve their lottery chances. I will trust their decision if they deem him OK to play. If they deem he needs to sit KAT might not trust their opinion.

Well he is playing. Wolves Drs. and KAT must agree that he is OK.

To be very honest I'm hoping that KAT does not get his Supermax, but I don't want the team to deny him his shot at it and create ill will.

No injury whatsoever apparently. I'll remind myself next time he cries wolf about popping noises to hand him butter for the popcorn.

You're saying he didn't hear a pop?

Our bodies aren't an exact science. The judgement here is out of line.

Yeah well did you see him playing in Denver? Was that maybe 3 days later? I watched him do some crazy things in Denver that he could have never done on any kind of knee injury from 3 days prior. If there was any kind of knee scare I wouldn't expect the team to let him play that way. Don't know what else to say. All I'm saying is next time I hear injury I'm going to expect superhealer to show us how it's done again. Come back instant beast mode.

It looks as though any pop he heard was in his imagination ears. Judging from the clear scans and how he played in Denver.

He got mixed up with Bobby Portis earlier in the game & maybe he was fatigued and the knee just gave out suddenly and he had a knee jerk reaction? He's a very durable guy & pain from a real injury might be foreign to him, so maybe he thought something wasn't right about his knee.

We've watched KAT for 4 years now go down on the court and get right back up, nothing would lead us to believe he'd be crying wolf about something...probably just got scared when tweaked his knee.

That's exactly what I suggested might have happened in a post yesterday. That's what I now think happened. Still a wee bit concerned that it gave out on him at all. But fatigued is the status when most big injuries occur. Other leg muscles are spent and nothing is holding everything together like it should. He is probably the luckiest bastard in Minnesota. It's about time someone was lucky around here.

I know this question is kind of dumb, but if KAT makes an all NBA team his contract goes from $158 mil to $190 mil. Does that extra go towards our cap hit, or is there an exception for the extra 6 mil per?

No exceptions. It's treated like any normal contract.

Here's the breakdowns (based on a $109 million salary cap)
25% - $27,250,000 / $29,430,000 / $31,610,000 / $33,790,000 / $35,970,000 = $158,050,000
30% - $32,700,000 / $35,316,000 / $37,932,000 / $40,548,000 / $43,164,000 = $189,660,000

Really stupid how they didn't make that a non-cap bonus, I don't know what the NBA was thinking.

They were thinking it looks like they were helping teams hold onto their stars from the outside, while also knowing it will destroy the team further and guarantee the player will force his way out in time to join a barn burner collection in a big market at some point that makes everyone fat stinking tv rich.

I wonder in what year 43 million a season will seem like a deal. In that year Brazil will probably buy the united states and kick us all out.
