Re: Boxing Thread 4.0
Night of some good action, was able to see DAZN main event live after Warriors/Celtics and recorded the FOX card, only to have the last minute of round 11 and the entire round 12 of Lopez/Thurman missing because I set to record an extra 30 minutes and not the full hour. The program was only scheduled for 2 hours but I always put extra time, yet wasn't sure how much time to put. Thankfully, PBC on FOX's YouTube channel put round 12 on there, so it's possible that it happened to a lot of viewers. This isn't the first time it's happened with PBC on FOX, either, they got to do a better job of scheduling.
Back to the fights. Lopez hurt Thurman badly in round 7 but otherwise, Thurman won solidly. One judge had it a draw, which is a terrible scorecard. Munguia/Inoue on the DAZN was a one-sided yet entertaining fight. I didn't see Vergil Ortiz's fight or what many people are saying was the best fight overall last night (Can-Rojas) as it was getting late after watching the entire FOX card, but I'll check them out later.

I always put a hour extra on the DVR for Fox PBC shows. You’re lucky that heavyweight fight ended pretty quickly before the Thurman fight. Josesito Lopez had a few good rounds, but have no issues with Thurman winning.
I don’t subscribe to DAZN, but probably will starting with the next Canelo fight.

I don't think the 113-113 was so far off. I thought JL took 5 of the last 6 + the 7th was a 10-8 (Fox's Larry Hazard somehow only gave it a 10-9...turning a dude's head 15 times as he's practically out on his feet for 2 minutes is not enough for an extra point???).
Lopez has put up some good fights as the underdog over his career. Beating Victor Ortiz, for example. This was a risky tune-up for Thurman.

Re: Boxing Thread 4.0
Alvarez vs. Kovalev II just wrapped up. Kovalev absolutely gave Alvarez the work all night. Whenever Alvarez found an opening, he couldn't execute.
This is what Kovalev needed. He needed this victory to redeem himself and he got it. Good for him, he's a cool guy and he should've gotten the win against Andre Ward in their first fight IMO.
What Alvarez should do next, no clue. But if Alvarez had beaten Kovalev tonight, I would've said he should go after Oleksandr Gvozydk. But after losing to Kovalev, Idk if Alvarez is ready for a fight against that man.
Alvarez's loss tonight, to me, widens the gap to who's the best Light Heavyweight currently. It's Gvozdyk, undoubtedly so. But I hope Anthony Yarde or even Marcus Browne gets their chance to take that crown in soon time.

Yeah, I've gotta give Kovalev (and McGirt) a lot of credit. Great performance and turned the brawler into a boxer in a relatively short time. I honestly thought for him to win, he'd have to finish early. I thought he'd swing for the fences and tire out again and get picked off little by little until another stoppage.

Kovalev has always had a very good jab, and he utilized it the most I've probably seen from him to date. Alvarez just looked lost in there. Those 2 scores that gave Alvarez 4 rounds were quite generous, found it hard pressed to give him 2. Interested to see Krusher's next move given he's not tied to any network, hopefully that can open doors for him between PBC, DAZN, and ESPN.

There is this misconception that Kovalev is more of a brawler and bully in the ring rather than a boxer. This is the same guy that outboxed Ward(1st fight) and Hopkins. He always had a suspect chin. He simply got caught in his last fight agaisnt Alvarez. The guy always had above average boxing skills and it showed last night. Alvarez was the victim of his own hype. He drank far too much of his own Kool Aid.

I find it difficult to give more than 2 rounds to Alvarez. That’s being generous too.

Spence destroyed Garcia, Garcia should of never been in there anyway but Spence did what he had to do. He needs to take over the 147 division, hope he fights Thurman or Crawford next.

Re: Boxing Thread 4.0
The worst commentators in that fight. ^^^ No insight to all the incredible technical problem-solving that went down. All that lead hand fencing? There was some high level **** going on. And the fact that Spence is 147 lbs and threw 1050 punches? That's a 122 pounders punch rate. But no reference to this workrate ever.
Also, how many times did Lewis mix up their names? 'Spence just hit Errol with a hard right hook'. And both him and Goosen alluded to Garcia as a great body puncher multiple times. Meamhwile, Mikey is without a doubt the biggest headhunter among boxing's elite, he almost never punches to the body.

Spence should fight only Thurman, Porter or Crawford.
Those are the only fights that should be made. Which probably means we’re going to get Spence/Pacquiao. SMH.

Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan April 20th on espn ppv at MSG, New York. I think the winner probably fights Errol Spence Jr?
Hopefully someone will get knocked out cold in this fight. I'll be buying that little bit extra extra food and drink that Saturday morning plus maybe a bottle of wine. Enjoy the interviews and enjoy the fight should you tune in.

Crawford-Khan was...an odd ending.
Another fight, another night not closer to Crawford-Spence.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I don’t feel sorry anyone that was dumb enough to purchase this fight. You all should know better. Khan has been living off what he accomplished pre-Garcia. If you watched his fights post-Canelo, you would know for certain that he had no chance. Low blow or not, Crawford completely outclassed him and was on his way to an eventual stoppage, which was expected.

Crawford seems to be a coward, if you know all the big fights are with haymon and u know haymon and top rank won't play together, why would u re sign with top rank last year and keep fighting tomato cans

Re: Boxing Thread 4.0
That Crawford is saying Khan quit is such nonsense. You fight outmatched opponents, this is what you're going to get. You wanted him for the payday, that's what he gave you. Don't cry because he didn't want to end a non-competitive match on his back.
