Prokorov wrote:Lou Williams game winner overshadows an insane clutch peformance late by Russell... maybe more impressive then any clutch shot/game winner he has hit. this sequence is insane:

down 8 with 44 seconds left:

Russell three
Russell steal, carrolle layup+ foul
Russell dime to allen for the dunk for the tie

and he was composed the whole time. not fouls, not hero ball at the end.

shame we didnt get OT

Yeah, his leadership was off the charts at that point of the game. The dime to Allen was his best play of the game, he could have had tunnel vision and looked to force a three instead dude catches the entire defense napping for an easy banger.

Easily his best game of the month. He needs to continue what he started the other night because that was the Russell we saw all season.

His best game in his career. Crazy how good this guy could be when he is actually driving the ball in. I hope this trend continues.

I think that was the big thing. His shot wasn't dropping early on, but he was aggressive attacking the basket instead of the slow/methodical/probing style he typically does.

He got going towards the basket and then the three started to go down.

See the ball go in the hoop from layups, and soon that bucket starts looking like an ocean from downtown.

That's basketball folks...

Read the comments on that dawkins video.

This is a narrative changing in real time. Magic is being clowned to the point where the jokes are becoming tasteless (I won't repeat it here because its not funny), but the point is, Russell has kept his mouth shut and has focused on what he needs to focus on.

I hope we come out looking to destroy the Lakers.

dude I saw those comments :o people have no chill!

but for real, this is pretty amazing what we're witnessing. And you know DLo is going to bring it on Friday night at the Staples Center... will definitely have to watch that one. Would be crazy to see him go off again.

Individual DWS is a bad stat to use, especially in isolation from team defense. Even DBPM isn't that good (the creator of the stat said so himself) for measuring individual defense.

Skip's trying to imply that DLo is the 39th best defender in the league with his comment. That's not what the number means. DLo has been an allstar this season, but I wouldn't assert that he's in the top 15% of defenders.

Wow, that is one tired, dejected-looking man right there.

I want to thank Magic for what he did for the Lakers (as a player), but what they need right now is a leader.

It's crazy when ya see a young player figure it out. Like the light goes on.

Yo the line up was 4 PFs and Russell. Dats just crazy to me.

Russell at the start of the season lacked confidence. November it came cuz he knew he had to. January he realized who he was becoming. And now its a very dangerous 23 yo. assassin on the the court.

Down 28, that game is over. On the road, its new NBA rules of how you can and can not defend. He changed the pace of the game wit dat line up. When ya realize how to do that sky is the limit. Stars change the pace of a game.

This year

He did not know how to comeback from a 14 point deficit in a playoff race, he's experienced how to comeback from down 28. He now has the sample to believe they're in every game. Its only happened to 4 teams in the history of basketball in the NBA.
