Um, it's pretty hilarious how ironic this is.

Lebron is criticized for his lack of winning, yet you think Trout will be the GOAT when he hasn't even won a playoff game and he's 28 years old.

Not saying that Trout might not be the goat, but the arguments against LBJ can literally go against Trout except 10x harder.

Trout isnt the GOAT or even particularly close to it at this point.

Lots of people who are showing they don’t know a lick about baseball trying to provide analysis on Trout

Well, he is the best player in the MLB and has been for a while - but yes, Mike Trout actually does not have a great brand for a player of his caliber, even in USA he is not as famous as he should be.

I'm not sure if financially it makes sense to pay one player that much money, it might not be the most efficient way to spend money.

Nobody in any sports is worth that. People are losing their damn minds.

No kidding.

I can essentially tell who in this thread has no idea about baseball and/or Mike Trout.

To play a meaningless sport was my overarching point. This world's value system is ass-backwards.

Baseball entertains and employs a lot of people - what's the beef?

Name another team sport where having the best player doesn’t guarantee a playoff spot

Imagine the reaction if Messi or LeBron played for a team that was constantly in a relegation battle

That’s this guy

He’s the most overpaid sportsman in history

He's great from a statistical standpoint. But winning in Baseball is more attributed to the parts around a team then in basketball where someone like Lebron or Curry can immediately impact and shape the game just by themselves. Which is even more perplexing why these type of deals can happen in baseball. One player, no matter how elite his production is, will not turn a garbage team around.

Thanks for explaining what this guys does.

Baseball is just for USA I guess ;)

No worries - it's quite similar to cricket in a lot of respects (if you're familiar with cricket)

$430 million to swing a piece of wood. I bet he's a fan of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.

Ohhh I tend to see you know (thanks to the Simpsons back in the day and US movies)

i'm from the North of France, near England so Cricket I see what it is.

But like Baseball, I don't know the rules so, for me, I know nothing relative to that sport :D

I know what you mean - I lived in UK for awhile and watched a good amount of cricket - I still don't understand all of the rules. I even played rugby for two years and don't know those rules either  good times

Doncic’s size and skill-based game make him the only guy worthy of such contract, in my eyes
