This is so disheartening. I was a huge Ryan Adams fan and (please don't read this the wrong way) have had a tough time dealing with this news. That obviously means nothing and is not even remotely comparable to what the women he manipulated and abused had to and have to deal with - I say that only from a fan's perspective. I'm not good or able to separate artist from art, and I'm not sure it's good or healthy to anyways (not a discussion I wish to start nor have); yet there is so much music of his over the past two decades that has meant so much to me. When I hear it now, I think of something else entirely. With the themes he sings about, they now all ring so hollow. It also gives so much meaning to, for example, Phoebe Bridgers' entire debut, most notably Motion Sickness.

It's just so ****. **** that guy.

Not new at all but I got referred to Nahko and Medicine for the People by a friend a bit ago and have loved them. Feel good music with a heavy nature bent if you're into that. My friend said "this is the only group/ artist that has 100% success rate in recommendations".

Most of the guys in Tame Impala have been in Pond at some point, I think 1 or 2 still are, and the main guy from Pond has been in Tame Impala. Kevin is the mastermind of Tame Impala and he produces Pond's music (and played in Pond at some point before Tame went gang busters).

Just saw this post and I agree with your sentiment.

Ryan's music (both solo and with Whiskeytown) has been part of the fabric of my life for two decades. He is one of the key artists in the 'soundtrack' of my life. Cold Roses was my favourite album of all time.

So gutted by this news and quite disillusioned. Maybe I might be able to enjoy his music again in a few years, but I feel like I have lost a big part of one of my favourite past times. There is a void to fill and it is hard to find music that is so meaningful for me personally.

I guess I'll just have to listen to more Jason Isbell and Margo Price for now. Also, shifting back towards some of my favourite BritPop artists. Have been giving Different Days by The Charlatans a good go recently.

Can anyone recommend bands I might like if I was really into the Gaslight Anthem? I got into them once they were no longer producing music. But that's pretty much the exact kind of rock I wanna listen to.

I’m jealous. I love Foals.

They are incredible performers, especially Yannis, who sounded so good vocally and shredded on guitar. Impressive, considering he's a heavy smoker.

My girl works for the company that manages them, and they want to do a promo of some kind, when Foals comes to Milwaukee, that features Yannis and Giannis, as they are both of Greek descent. Probably won't happen, but would be an amazing coming together of two worlds for me. :D
