Mat Pat is really selling State Share, ha.

That looked pretty awesome too. Not so much to play with content creators but with friends on whatever platform they want.

Imagine a subreddit or #stateshare where people share their states of ridiculous scenarios in games. I could go days of just replaying impossible situations.

In all seriousness (for the record, was clearly not serious about 8K120 streaming on a 700" TV), I'll be interested to see: if you pay for games, pay for the service, or pay for both; if you get placed into queues in order to play games (like OnLive used to do); and what types of speeds are expected to be needed to support x games or qualities.

I really hope they avoid tiers (pay x more to play Ubisoft games, or pay x more to play MMORPGs, etc.). I'd prefer to keep paying for individual games vs. paying for a service (a la Netflix), tbh. Unless it's exceedingly reasonable, which I doubt.

I have a feeling most people will not be able to use it due to slow internet speeds and data caps before we even get into pricing. If it's a subscription service, at least you can try it out for a month. I'm sure there will be free games available though.

Personally, that looked like the future of gaming to me. They were showing off features I never imagined. I'm seeing a ton of pushback on gaming sites and I have to wonder why? Yes, there will be issues. No, not everyone will be able to play these games, at least at first. You've got industry giants like Sony and Microsoft that will no doubt not support it.

But there's always been a technological and/or economical barrier when something new and innovative arrives. The point is to push the boundaries, to do absolutely everything possible to fix problems and advance tech.

You can't tell me that in a vacuum everything in that presentation wasn't exactly what you would want. Always run the latest games on the best possible hardware, use any screen you like, instant access to what you want to play, easily game with anyone you like and not have to worry about platform.

In the end I think it comes down to two things: publisher support, and price.

I was in a beta for one of those services a few years ago and while it's cool the littlest bit of latency made certain games feel completely unplayable. And I pay for like the highest tier possible in my area with TWC/Charter. I'm sure it's gotten better but it's not an issue that it's as easy to deal with as when your ping suddenly spikes watching a video. If anyone has the infrastructure to handle it, though, it's google.

Is anyone playing 3.6? I just dove in. Playing a WO Witch to start but definitely want to play a Divine Orb Inquisitor at some point. Not sure how I feel about the Synthesis mechanic yet. It's cool...but I don't get it and I'm not sure how useful it is.

I've been watching 90 minutes of Sekiro on Kotaku and I've pretty easily decided I'm calling in sick on Friday. They're comparing it to Ninja Gaiden Black and Nioh, two of my very all time favorites, and it looks like literally everything I want in the game. I can't **** wait.

Yeah, that thing will be great. When we had those stupid cold days and everything was closed and it was so cold my internet was down for several days I can just sit at home and play..... oh wait

I see this like trying to sell sports cars when most of your market doesn't have paved roads.

I just want to sit on my couch, play Johnny D!ckhead 2 for a couple hours and that's it. I don't want to play on my couch, then go take a dump upstairs and bring the game with me on my phone, then lay in bed for awhile and play on my iPad, and then go sit at my desk and play some more on my laptop. I don't know, that's just me.

And while you're at it... get off my lawn.

Damn, I'm officially old and cranky. Where's my soup and why didn't I go to bed 3 hours ago?

I'd actually be curious what the DL speed is for gamers around here. 200mb is the minimum with Charter and it's not like I'm living in a major metro. When I read complaints about bad speeds in rural areas I gotta think that's the vast minority by now.

I get around 100. Spectrum has different guarantees depending upon where you live, and around here it's 100.

When you spend years gaming on 1.5 mb dsl with a crappy, Wireless G NIC that is trying to pick up a signal through multiple walls, one appreciates all of today's internet speeds. Kids today have no idea how good they have it. Would like to add that computerized matchmaking is one mankind's greatest achievements after the landing on the moon.

I'm at about 300 in between major metro markets.

Charter in Madison is 200. I always say this, but if you have Charter as your provider I would give them a call to make sure you're getting the best speed. I was at 60 and had to call twice to get up to 200 at no additional cost. However, my bill (and everyone else's it seems) recently went up about $12.

Bought the Division 2 on Monday and haven't been able to play at all. Super pumped for this weekend, my fiance is heading out of town and my new speakers and desk chair are coming. I'm gaming all weekend.

I'm anxious for tonight. Picking up Sekiro and some Diet Dew at 9:00 pm and playing until my eyeballs can't take it. Resume whenever I wake up the next day.

From the beginning of March to like mid-May, I have literally two or three weekends free. I'm itching to spend an entire weekend playing Division so badly lol. I finally have a free weekend coming up not this week but the following one.

Called after the last time you mentioned this. I was so excited to double speeds. Nerp. That's when I learned there are different guarantees and minimum speeds depending upon your location.
