That's actually pretty common for young guys come tournament time. I agree though with the quick turnaround on Saturday.

Exactly. Morant has PG skills DS couldn't dream of. Not just vision, but knowing when to attack and when to distribute.

Totally agree plays with great pace and feel of what is going on the court. Players with great athleticism like him can play out of control and Ja doesn’t have that issue.

I mean, I still don't see star in Ja. He's a great athlete and playmaker

But he's the Kevin Knox of PGs when it comes to defense. I just can't get behind that in a top 3 pick

Plus there's legitimate concerns about his shooting

I think a lot of the hype is due to pretty much everyone else except Zion disappointing. I feel the same way about him I felt about Trae last year. I see the points for him, but I don't want to be the one taking the gamble

I can't believe ya'll are so surprised. He played against other athletic teams this year and did well. Murray State almost beat a top 10 team early in the year (Murray State has gotten much better as the year went on). Check out his stats against Alabama, Auburn and Belmont (all athletic and/or good teams).

For example, Auburn is a top seed. Morant had 25, 8 and 7 on 7-14 shooting.

He's back to my #2 slot, pretty firmly. Had him there earlier in the season then wavered a bit. His vision is absurd; I didn't know it was like THAT. The one-handed and left-handed passes are ridiculous. Reminds me of Luka's passing in his tape from over in Europe.

For such a great athlete, it's impressive that he knows how to play at different speeds and play with pace. SO many young guards who are uber-athletic go full speed all the time and don't learn to play at varying speeds until they're 24-25 years old, if they ever do.

Can't wait to see him on Saturday against a tougher defensive team in FSU.

This really isn't surprising play from Ja. I think he has another level he can climb in this tourney.

shooting is such an important skill in the modern nba but it is something guys develop. it is a risk though. zion can't shoot either to be fair.

You have to factor in the quality of the draft. Do you feel good about Barrett's defense? Or Culver? Or Reddish?

After Zion, unless you plan on taking Hunter in the Top 5, you're not gonna get a decent defensive player.
