Love or hate Ja Morant but he is increasing the value of the #2 pick.

Morant dominated. Was skeptical, still am a little, but he absolutely controlled the entire game and Marquette had no answer. Excited to see him against Florida State.

If they select him and trade Dennis Smith for some sort of draft pick I’d be ecstatic!

Zion's only gonna have to shoot off the catch, he's not really gonna have to create his own 3 pointer

But your primary ball handler has to be able to hit shots off the dribble, which I'd say is a harder skill to develop than catch and shoot jumpers

Ja's high risk, not much higher reward

not much higher reward, compared to who? Garland or RJ?

Garland, RJ, and in my opinion Culver and Hunter

That's my big problem with this draft is nobody really looks like a future star to me

All those guys I listed plus a few more have about equal chance to be really good players, so I'd rather take the guy I see as having a lower bust potential, especially cause we already have a guy who has a good chance to be a really good player at PG in DSJ and we're targeting Kyrie

I'm just against taking a PG unless he's an absolute stud, which I don't see in Ja.

I hear you but there's very few LeBron or KD type guys that everyone thinks/knows will be a star. Who are the biggest stars now?

LeBron (1st pick), Giannis (15th), Westbrook (4th), Harden (3rd), KD (2nd), Curry (7th), Embiid (3rd), Kyrie (1st), Kawhi (15), Lillard (6), AD (1st), George (10th), Jokic (41)..

The only guys on that list that were picked top 3 (which is where expected stars are picked) were: LeBron, Kyrie, KD, Harden, Embiid and AD. Of them, Harden and Embiid looked iffy at the time. Kyrie also was very iffy and was only the #1 pick because it was considered a bad draft.

Only revolutionary players stick out and are obvious. You're asking too much. Kobe, Chris Paul, Garnett, Paul Pierce and many others were not picked top 5 either. There aren't many Shaqs, LeBrons, Duncans, etc.

agreed

Im not sure how his game will translate the the NBA where he's going to have to make shots and defend but he's dominating without shooting, and thats impressive in itself

a tripple double with what, 8 shot attempts?

I’ll trust a guy like Morant to fix his jumpshot mechanics like Fox did because he clearly has an elite work ethic.

We'll see him shoot more. He was just getting doubled/tripled every time he touched the ball. I was impressed with his ability to use that to his teams advantage, find teammates and draw fouls. It was a great game.

Doesn't that kind of validate my point a bit?

Lot of guys dropped that shouldn't have because someone played better than them in college

Why should we take Kawhi when Kemba Walker's torching the NCAA? (I love Kemba, just making a point he's not on Kawhi's level). Who needs Klay Thompson when Jimmer Fredette's the best player in college?

Trey Burke got taken over CJ McCollum

I'm not saying Ja's gonna bust, I'm just skeptical of how well his game is gonna work in the pros when to me, a guy like Hunter already has a pro style game, but is much less flashy
