unfortunately he plays more often like Semaj than Lou Williams (but impressive performance tonight, he was not only efficient but also playing with high BBIQ)

James Harden is from another planet. The guy's 3rd best guard of all time, behind MJ and Kobe IMO.

Whooo!

We won a game!

This has always been my stance on him: He can be a difference maker on the defensive end if he puts his mind to it. It's just that he's too lazy 90 % of the time.

He's just so up and down, it's crazy. He's managed to combine at least league average efficiency with at least 20 USG% 19 times this season. Yet he's also been below 50 TS% 34 times.

They were down 76-63 with 5:23 to go in the 3rd quarter. The rest of the game for the Raptors:

-11/30 from the field
-7 assists to 6 turnovers
-4 shots blocked by the Thunder
-4 balls stolen by the Thunder
-33 points
-36 possessions
-91.7 ORtG

They showed great effort after being down by double digits. This is what we need from them every single damn night, not just for 15 minutes once a month.

PS:

Grant as the defensive matchup for Siakam: 23 possessions, 10 points scored by Siakam, 30 points scored by the Raptors, 130 ORtG for the Raptors as a team in those possessions
Westbrook as the defensive matchup for Siakam: 31 possessions, 2 points scored by Siakam, 31 points scored by the Raptors, 100 ORtG for the Raptors as a team in those possessions

I thought this was a stupid move when they went to it, but it certainly worked.

I wonder if Sam Presti throws up a little in his mouth every time Harden has a game like that. Presti choosing Ibaka over Harden will go down as one of the worst trades in the history of NBA management and I said at the time it was a colossal mistake although many disagreed with me, including much of the local media. Had he kept Harden we would have become a dynasty and probably would have at least 3 championships by now.

This game is fool's gold. OKC won because they miraculously hit 20-43 on 3 pointers and that's simply not sustainable as we've seen all year. The game they just lost to the Raptors they were 9-43. I'm glad we won and it was good to see them shoot the ball well for a game but their offensive scheme right now doesnt come close to fitting their personnel.

Just incredible. Feels like a lifetime ago that we actually had that guy.

Yeah, 20-43 for the 3 is a complete anomaly. Nice win and all, but this won't happen anytime soon.

This was the only time we hit Adams as the roll man if I'm not mistaken.

Huh, we were hitting crazy from 3 for most of January. It's not much of an anomaly. Ferg, Grant and PG have been very reliable 3 point shooters since Jan. Russ has been good since All star. Schroder is up and down, but he can certainly light it up.

Good game, but I would prefer us not always having double digit comebacks. It's not sustainable. It's stupid. Despite the defense being high energy tonight our DRTG was still pretty bad. Overall though great second half.

Playoff Schroder is warming up. Nobody has a guy coming off the bench with his track record of being on fire come playoff time.

You're either a very deliberate troll or just a clueless idiot. Schröder has no "track record" when it comes to the Playoffs, period.

25/2/8 last playoffs, with 42% from 3, only 1.7 TOV and .226 WS/48. Those are elite starter numbers. Very similar to what he did yesterday.

He'll show you in a couple of weeks what playoff S looks like. Yeah he's been dog%%$ the past few months, but he's come back from Allstar ready to pick up from where he left off last playoffs.

Several good games doesn’t make what you say true. When he’s on it’s awesome but OKC MIGHT get that in 1 playoff game per series...that’s it

Cool. How about the 481 minutes in his two prior Playoff stints where he shot 41.4 % from the field and 29.0 % from 3 with .025 WS/48 , 48.9 TS% and 96 ORtG? How does that factor into your musings? That's just slightly worse than this season's average for him. Do we ignore that because cherrypicking is more fun?

Image

56 TS% is league average, mind you. It's much more likely that we get 3/14 Schröder all Playoffs long than this imaginary version of him where he turns into Steph Curry. That happens once a month. Chances are we saw that version for the last time this season with the game last night.

That was one series which his team lost and the opposing team's PG ended up averaging 29.5/10 on 62.5% TS%. He still did very well offensively, but let's not get carried away, his career playoff numbers are pretty mediocre.

Also, Schroder's TS% post All-Star break this season is 45.5%, this was one of the very few games since the break where he wasn't bricking everything.
