He can be a Garrett Temple/Tony Snell for a really good team if he can ever stay healthy and find his niche.
Now just imagine if Temple and Snell were drafted with the 8th overall pick and ahead of a player with the obvious talent of a guy such as Donovan Mitchell.
Temple went undrafted and Snell was a #20th selection.
I have said it before and I'll say it again. Frank was a late first or 2nd round caliber pick. We reached for a fit pick based on Phil's loyalty to an atiquated offense. Phil wanted to prove he was right about the △ more than he wanted to draft the BPA.
That's it in a nutshell.
Agreed and I believe they fell in love with Ntilikina's measurables. They thought they were getting a Penny Hardaway, 6'6" PG type but he doesn't have that skill, athleticism, talent or motor.
This is where proper scouting failed them. This is where the eye test failed them. This is why Gaines got Twitter fingers now and is taking notes on what KT says instead of taking notes on players in exchange for money from an actual team (i.e. - no job).
Frank didn't pass the eye test for me which is why I hopped off the wagon. Once I really poured over his tapes he was stiff, he was awkward, he lacked burst, he lacked athleticism, he lacked wiggle, etc.
His supporters kept pointing to the U18 games but even then when he scored productively it was mostly all on jumpshots. He just got hot. But the ball skills weren't there. The moves weren't there. And he was playing against schills.
