BREAKING: Nike PAID DeAndre Ayton when he was at Arizona

Post#1 » by Shock Defeat » Tue Mar 26, 2019 8:28 pm

On his Twitter account Tuesday morning, Avenatti wrote, "Ask Deandre Ayton and Nike about the cash payments to his mother and others. Nike’s attempt at diversion and cover-up will fail miserably once prosecutors realize they have been played by Nike and their lawyers at [the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner]. This reaches the highest levels of Nike." Ayton played collegiately for one year at Arizona before becoming the first pick in the NBA draft last year. Avenatti included no specifics to back up his allegation.

I thought it was known that the school paid Ayton but now a big time corporation is also paying players.

A star college player was paid under the table?!?! So they paid him for a 1st round exit. Money well spent.

Avenatti.... That guy is doing anything and everything he can to stay relevant. I'm having a hard time finding him credible.

That said, even if this is true, I have a hard time getting outraged by these "scandals". I just don't care if a big corporation pays a college kid.

Archaic NCAA rules won't stop actual (black) markets from formulating...the NCAA needs to get their **** heads out of their collective asses and allow these players to make money off their own names so they don't do it under the table like this.

such a joke that this is still even a debate in 2019.

sooner or later it's going to make more sense for the NBA to funnel prospects through the gatorade league than through the NCAA. in my mind, that's far likelier than the NCAA ever allowing its players to earn money either through a wage or through endorsements.

Nike pays the coach and school. They better be paying players.

I don’t get why Nike would do that? There is zero appeal is Ayton. Did it help Arizona? Was it even worth it

Didn't the FBI ruling already reveal this? I remember them saying that Nike and other shoe companies pay high school basketball players to wear their stuff and then sign officially when they go pro.
