Kings targeting Vucevic [Amick]
What the hell.
What are they trying to do? What are they going to do with Bagley and Giles? They already have Bjelica and Barnes to play power forward. For me, they would be better off targeting star wings like Butler, Harris or Middleton.

Re: Kings targeting Vucevic (Amick)
Pretty simple answer, let Cauley Stein walk, use Giles as the backup center, start Bagley at PF with Bjelica backing him up and keep Barnes at SF where he’s been starting. All this means is they want an upgrade over WCS at center and they’re willing to pay for it.
Fox/FA or draft pick
Hield/Bogdanovic
Barnes/FA or draft pick
Bagley/Bjelica
Vucevic/Giles

I think he'd be a wonderful fit for any team. He looks slimmed down and he was always a really good player, but now he's simply fantastic. I think he's better right now than DeMarcus Cousins ever was.

That's good potential spacing too, Vuc with Bagley
Bjelica with Giles.
3&d backup SF
Facilitator at backup pg.
Grab a cheap brute for deep bench at C just in case we need a bigger body than Giles deep.
I'm nervous to shell out the max though.

Get in line
He’s the FA center
Even Orlando has dangled Bamba already signifying they will try to keep him too

Re: Kings targeting Vucevic (Amick)
As good as Vuc has been this year I don't know that I'd do a 4year/30% max deal for him. Having a season this much better then previous years at his age is likely to be a 'career year' that isn't repeated going forward.

Well that's very hyperbolic. Cousins was once an MVP candidate. Cousins during his peak was way more dominant than Vucevic right now.
But obviously, Vucevic right now is 10 times better than the current version of Cousins. Vucevic is a really good player. But I don't think he's worth the full max.

Bagley can't shoot (yet). The spacing on offense would take a huge hit if they swap Bjelica for Bagley in the starting line up.

? He’s going to start because he’s a foundational piece of the team. The only question is where. Bjelica is garbage anyways
Bagley’s shooting from midrange lately has been impressive and his 3 ball hasn’t been detrimental, not that that would prevent him from starting

Vooch can though. He's no marksman, but he can shoot the 3 if you leave him open and he's a great passer operating from the elbows. Don't think spacing would be a problem, specially on a Fox/Hield/Boggie(or Barnes)/Bagley/Vucevic lineup.

Re: Kings targeting Vucevic [Amick]
I would rather have the Kings spending for a rim-protector who can run the floor (e.g. Noel for a decent deal) or try to make a move for some better (fitting) free agent. Durant would be a dream (and great fit).
In my opinion, even though Vucevic is a very good player, this feels like a lateral move. I also do think it would alter the Kings (very entertaining) playstyle in a less entertaining direction.

Re: Kings targeting Vucevic [Amick]
Idk if Giles is your long term starter at PF, but I’m high on bags and wouldn’t make this signing as I believe he’s their future C.
There’s another euro player that I think would be a nice fit - Bojan

if Sacramento really offers him the max, hopefully Orlando does not match.

I hope this is true, the rumors of Dallas going after him are scary, he's a horrendous fit with Zinger and what 9-10 years in still hasn't made the playoffs in the lowly East.

Let me help you out there, if Sacramento offers him a max (he might be eligible for a super max if he makes all NBA btw) he’s going to be King, it’s simple as that. Orlando would shake his hand and thank him for his services and call it a day.

he is in his 8th year. and has been on a team first rebuilding from the Dwight departure and then horribly managed. are you saying he is a bad player?

Not a bad player, but certainly not worth anywhere near a max, and not an all star if he played in the West or there wasn't a mandate for equal distribution between east and west. And I'll reiterate, an abysmal fit with Porzingis.

Re: Kings targeting Vucevic [Amick]
Id peg Vucevic value at around 4 years, $90-100 million on open market this summer. I don't see him as a 30% max player. I'm really interested to see what Magic do in FA with their incumbent free agents between Vucevic + Ross.

Bagley is showing signs of being a competent 3 point shooter. He’s at 47% in March taking 2 per game. Give him an off-season to work on it and he might surprise you next season. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox improves his 3 point shooting next season as well. Anyway you look at it there’s no keeping Bagley out their starting lineup next season, he’s far too good to be a bench player.
