Wouldn't be surprised if this was backed up by Trae starting but only playing 20 minutes or so, because at this point he seems to want 82 games started on his mark for the season. I kinda think Collins doesn't play vs Orlando either.

I knew the Tank commanders would be celebrating that move! They also will be sick to their stomachs when the 6th spot wins the lottery! LOL!

Well jumping the gun, Trae may go for 40 vs Philly seeing Simmons favor L**a for roty making the rounds, so no payback for them, lol
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Count me as one that just doesn't care whether the Hawks are 5th or 6th. The lotto balls gonna do what they gonna do.

Re: Game Thread: Hawks at Spurs, 04/02/19
Spoiler:
Peachtree HoopsSpurs host the Hawks in cross-conference matchup
...when Atlanta spends time in San Antonio, things usually don’t go well. In fact, the Spurs have defeated the Hawks on twenty consecutive occasions in San Antonio, with Atlanta last winning on the road against the Spurs on Feb. 15, 1997.
This time around, the Hawks do have some lottery-related incentive to lose but Atlanta continues to play hard and it will take a strong effort from the home team to keep the streak alive. San Antonio does need to win, however, with an eye toward playoff positioning, and that could lead to an uphill battle for Trae Young, John Collins and company.

But there are a specific nimber of lottery balls, and specific odds of where those balls can bounce. You want the very best odds possible for that Mavs’ pick to convey, and here they are:
~Finishing 5th worst in season standings has a 10.5% chance of landing the top pick and a 44.2% chance of staying in the top 5.
~Finishing 6th worst only has an 8.3% chance of top pick and 34.8% of staying in the top 5. Top 4 really, as picks 6th on back have 0% chance of 5th.
Pretty significant impact on the Mavs’ pick conveying between the 5th and 6th worst slots. Hawks need to stay in 5th to maximize those odds.

WIN WITH IMPUNITY FOLKS!!!
Having said that, the Spurs are in the thick of it and are at home. We seem to be putting guys on the shelf.
Maybe grab a couple more wins at home vs the Sixers and Pacers and call it a season with 30 wins and 52 losses.
One of the most exciting below .500 Hawk seasons I’ve ever been a part of as a fan.
From Trae to Vince to everyone involved, a truly enjoyable year that showed up glimpses of what the future holds for us as a winning franchise.
Go Hawks!

Absodamnlutely, most entertaining season since the 60 wins and more so than all those 40-something-win 1st-round exit treadmill years! Hawks can now go all out trying to win 2 more and reach that 30-win threshold, going to be a great couple of weeks and offseason!

Yeah....I understand the math. I'm well aware of the odds. My point is that with the flattened odds structure, I'm (personally) far less concerned with the difference between 5th and 6th. In both cases, it's greater than 50/50 that the pick conveys but not so great as to eliminate the concern of it not conveying.
Under the old math, 5th place had a 55% chance of staying in the Top 5 while 6th place had only a 20% chance of jumping into Top 5. That's a HUGE difference relatively speaking and was really worth protecting, imo. I get it....you want to have more chances as opposed to less chances. That's obvious. I just don't think the difference between the 5th and 6th odds is significant enough to warrant all the heartburn over the standings.
