Rich Paul fought for his clients when their teams didn't want to do the client justice.
But i don't care about Rich Paul's clients.
I care about the Atlanta Hawks...and I don't want them having to deal with this guy.
NOTE: Who actually defends sports agents? I've never heard any fan spout glowing remarks on Scott Boras, Drew Rosenhaus or the like? Why the hell would a fan of a sports team be siding with the agent over the team?
1. People generally side with the player in player-v-team kerfuffles.
2. Because Klutch present themselves as ultra-aggresively(sp?) pursuing players' interests, people (incorrectly) see them as some Robin Hood-type organization. Fighting the good fight against these bad ol' GM's/teams.
3. So when Klutch makes a pubic outcry over something, many fans are like .. "Yeah, stick it to tha man!"
The reality is, Klutch exists to do the bidding of Lebron ... and obtw they're a sports agency. Outside of being Lebron's friend, they don't truly have what it takes to be a successful agency. All they do is walk into teams' offices and scream, "Gimme as much money as the CBA allows you to pay! ...... obtw, the most powerful man in basketball is backing us so you don't wanna get on his bad side, do you?"
Once the Lebron shadow fades, likely so will that agency.
All that being said, I do appreciate the fact that they are a minority-owned voice in that industry/business. It's an industry/business that suffers from a lack of diversity at the highest levels. This is also another reason folks seem to love Klutch. That said, it doesn't mean one can't evaluate what they're actually doing with a critical eye. Outside of guys that were currently teammates of lebron at the time they were negotiating, they have spectacularly failed to get anyone paid.
All in all, I love the concept of Klutch but I do not like the execution.
1. On realgm and reddit, most posters don't side the players, mainly the teams, especially their team
2. I wouldn't call them Robin hood but they do care about their players interest above all else. If their player wants to stay and willing to sign an under the market deal they will do it. A number of teams have good relationships with Rich.
3. Never heard or seen this. This sounds like some bull KG. Please post where fans have said this. Most fans I see on message boards hate Rich for no reason other than what happened with AD. This statement is a garbage.
Nonsense. Straight nonsense. It's clear you guys have others issues bigger than just Rich
