Zion

thats how I have my top 5 at the moment for the knicks.

Flip Barrett and Culver and remove Clarke and we're basically the same.

For me, for now it's:
• Zion
• Ja
• RJ
• Culver
Cam

boy that 5th pick is looking equal to the 15th pick almost

really hard to know about Cam
he could be useless in the NBA if that shooting and effort doesn't materialize

I think he should shock the league and stay another year
but he won't

rj barrett.

oh. kind of a weird comparison. besides having some tunnel vision is there any real similarity ?

hyped during high school due to physical development and “dog”ness. lack real touch around rim or athleticism to get there. questionable shooting. bad defense, die to screens and bad offball movement.

show flashes of passing but lack awareness to make quick decisions as a play develops. hence tunnel vision once a drive starts.

I feel you on Garland. But Cam...I am not high on him at all. If we never knew he was highly ranked out of high school no one would be talking about him as a lottery pick.

Culver gets the nod over Barrett because he can do literally almost everything that Barrett can do offensively with elite defense.

I think I'm just at the point that i believe Barrett is more of an alpha and I think he'll be fine defensively with more focus on that end at the next level... It's one of those hunches thing for me. I think he just figures it out offensively and can be a nice fulcrum of creation from the wing, which, to me, is extremely valuable. I'd be fine with Culver too for the record. Just prefer Barrett...

Clarke I don't understand for the Knicks or anywhere in the top 5 to be quite frank... He can't shoot, isn't much of a playmaker and gets by a lot by simply being more athletic offensively. He's discount Zion to me.... I get the defense thing but I just don't see the fit for us nor the upside since he's far away from being any sort of shooter and I don't think he's big enough to be a rim running center at the next level. He would have been a good fit with KP but him and Mitch together offensively would never work IMO.

go to like 3:25 I have no questions that he will be able to develop a spot up jumper. He already has a post fadeaway move already...if we have KD we would want someone that could take the pressure off KD. Think about it this way we would have someone that could matchup against Giannis (for the next 5-10 years).

If we get KD/Kyrie I 100% think Clarke needs and will be in the discussion at 5 (i know i know his age). But he is instant impact and I don't think at that point you can take a chance on Reddish. I think Hunter (who I am a fan of). But Clarke has much more of a dynamic offensive game then Hunter who's a bit mechanical on that end.

He played well on both ends of the court with a bum knee in their final game. He is indeed streaky, but at the 5th spot I currently like him over his like Clarke. :D :dontknow:

Garland and at least one other prospect will shoot up on draft boards after workouts. I wonder who else will turn heads in a good way.

someone in this thread (i forgot who) said that darius garland is a poor play maker based on what he did in high school. if that's true then i am putting Ja Morant in a tier above him

Even his Vandy highlights didn't show much. It was the first thing I noticed about them. He's a point guard? Where are the passes? IIR C Spencer had a thread where he showed a little more but it was pretty basic stuff.

was reporting what mike gribanov said about garland. he's one of the best AAU scouts.

i don't really care that much about primary ball handler upside outside of zion tho. even if garland is not that good of a creator he has shooting and shot versatility with the athleticism and skill level to be a good offensive player besides another high level player.

The closer this lottery gets (41 days but whos counting?) the more I feel being the worst team will definitely not land us the #1 pick. This is the first year they are implementing this lottery change and trying to stop tanking. If they're going to rig it at all it's going to be for a team that has terrible odds to win it rather than the worst team in the league.

ainno rig bih

i just know the odds of getting #1 are low all around, so i'm not losing sleep over that. guaranteeing top 5 is the best you can do.

and honestly, if i couldn't get zion i like ja and garland as the next targets. i like them best out of the field. then culver, then RJ i guess?

I'm trying to figure out why you felt good enough in the first place to have any space to feel "worse" as the draft approaches.
