Shoemaker with another solid start! Like Schad said i'd reserve judgement until he faces some tougher competition. Detroit and Baltimore will probably combine to lose 200 games or more this year. Promising start nonetheless.

I'll be disappointed if we send Urena down to free up a spot for Hanson.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Have always liked pitchers with a splitter or forkball. He just doesn't throw very hard for that type type of pitcher, I think when he loses some velocity that will be the beginning of his problems as well as facing the red sox or yankees.

There have been some soft-tossers who did good work with splitters; later-career Ryan Dempster comes to mind, as he got more reliant on his splitter as his velocity declined. Mistake splitters are definitely the most dangerous in baseball, though...

Apparently Dempster started throwing his splitter halfway through his career. I just generally think of hard throwers with the splitter for some reason.
