I'd take Morant over Ball 1v1. I tried real hard to find a decent comparison for Morant, but it's pretty hard to find that kind of statistical production at the PG spot among college players.

I do wonder if Ball might be available, though, and I would be interested if he can get a clean bill of health... despite the fact that Ball will never be the shooter that Jackson is (lol).

Definitely Morant over Ball.
But after Morant/Jrue, Balls is interesting possibility. His defense could be a nice pairing with Book.

How do we think balls defense compares to Melton?

It's better. Ball's high center of gravity makes him a little like Bridges defensively. Great quickness for his size, strong, very good frame. Get his hands up to contest every shot, gets around screens, can switch 1-3, good at disrupting passing lanes. Can't hound ball handlers like Melton or invade their space as well, but if Ball's healthy, I take his PG defense over almost anyone's.

His offense sucks though. For real. Real bad. That shot staaanks.

I think he was injured last summer and maybe didn’t get opportunity to work on his shot? Didn’t he have a +.400 3p shot in college?

He did shoot better in college but his weird and slow mechanics combined with the fact he's an absolutely horrendous FT shooter doesn't really give me much hope that hell ever be a consistent shooter. But if team just leave him wide open he might be able to hit some, even bad NBA shooters are typically ok if left wide open.

Now I do think he'll have a little Ricky Rubio in him where he's smart enough to know he's not much of a shooter and he won't shoot so much that his poor percentage hurts you. His aversion to getting fouled and missing FT is a major concern though.

I’d do Josh + Milwaukee 1st (assuming we don’t get Morant)

I think ball with his experience would be better than Morant. Hence why if not getting Zion, would be worth the pick. Sure Lonzo needs to learn to shoot but running a team, defense. Might be a nice fit next to Booker.

His form scares you? I mean yeah, it's ugly. He did shoot better from 3 than Jackson this year on higher volume...far higher volume on a per game basis, but even has taken more 3s this year, despite playing in 30 fewer games. Josh is actually better from the line though, so their TS% is close even though Ball is much better inside the arc as well.

Of course the big differences are in defense and passing. They even turn it over about the same # of times per game...Josh more per 36 despite far fewer assists.

Of course LA would never trade Ball for Jackson and the Bucks pick. They played well when Ball and LeBron were healthy.

Oh yeah. Bridges is literally the only available player who would get minutes on a playoff level team.

I'd tell Melton and Okobo to try and score as much as they can. I actually think Melton has been has been too passive and should look for his shot more. Okobo is the best scorer available and that's really saying something.

I'm definitely opting to watch my Brewers play the Cubs instead of this abomination of a game.

I don't mind scoring Okobo but without any other offensive threats, it's probably going to be ugly

And Duncan called Ayton the worst defensive center in the NBA today. Hopefully we see big improvements in help defense next year.

That’s why if Tyler opts in or isn’t stretched —
And I am good keeping him as is - Warren Or JJ need to be moved probably to get cap space for PG and bench shooter.

This is also thinking Clarke is the pick to fill PF

That really is. It is so great to see Dragan and JJ play well. Spalding too of course. He's a no brainer end of bench guy for next season with whatever his cheap option is. Seeing Dragan with 7 blocks, and continually stuffing Randle in regulation to take it to OT was awesome. It will really suck if he ends up flourishing with another team. Same with JJ but obviously more chance we don't have Dragan next year and we are thin in the front court anyway. Hopefully we just end up with Zion or Clarke and we are ok up front going forward.

I am getting the sense Dragan is really starting to like it hear (post game clip was great to see). I hope all of the Star FAs shutdown most teams interest early in FA on the value players like Bender. Also Bender might place more value in getting a steady role in PHX and improving his chances to make it long term in the nba.

I really like Bender as our back up 4 and emergency 5 when we have injuries. If he can get a consistent 3p shot in 2-3 years he will be perfect next to Ayton.

I never anticipated Dragan Bender being a top offseason priority. Denying his option was always a weird move even if he didn’t show improvement, just based on where we were as a team. There will be teams interested in Bender for sure, but hopefully we can bring him back for the money we would have spent on Holmes (who we’ll probably let walk). Just need his shot to come around.

I do not think so.

Both have been terrible as a 4th picks.

One game at the end of the season when all the good players are sitting out and no one cares anymore does not change anything.
