Re: 2019 & 2020 Free-Agents
I think we all have a lot of the same ideas in our heads for the offseason, but I wonder what are the chances that the FO comes up with another one out of left field that we weren’t expecting.
I think one of the big FA’s is the number one goal still. After that, who knows...there might be a big value trade out there that doesn’t involve AD (not that I want to see any of our guys go.)

Free Agency Battle on West Coast and East Coast
Howard Beck, BleacherReport.com (4/3/19)
But if the stars want to win—immediately, sustainably and in one of the two major markets—their best options are the Nets and Clippers. That was the consensus among 10 executives and scouts polled for this story. (All agreed to speak on condition of anonymity.)
B/R asked the 10 people to rank the four teams, based solely on basketball considerations: roster, coaching staff, front office and ownership. Seven named the Nets and Clippers as the top two teams, in one order or the other. Three named the Lakers as the top choice. The Knicks were ranked last by eight of the 10 people. The other two ranked them third.
"Brooklyn and the Clippers have a decided advantage over the two marquee names," said a veteran general manager, "because they've done far more in the last few years to position themselves to be sustainable than either New York or the Lakers."
To sign two max players, the Clippers would have to trade Gallinari and possibly Robinson (for zero return), but they could still retain Williams, Harrell, Gilgeous-Alexander and Shamet, according to Pincus.
"They might be the best situation," one veteran scout said. "The organization's good, a lot of money, you got a good coach, good coaching staff. … You got a good young nucleus, with some veterans. They're poised to make another step, for sure."

I believe Bucher's report on #Durant. It would be perfect for him to come to LAC, for so many reasons. I could also see him going to LAL.

With a coach respected across the NBA in Doc Rivers and an owner considered the wealthiest in the league in Steve Ballmer, the Clippers have the kind of resources to keep a star out of the reach of their in-arena neighbor.Jae C. Hong/Associated Press/Associated Press
The Clippers (47-31) are sixth in the Western Conference and headed to the playoffs despite trading their best player two seasons in a row—Blake Griffin last year, Harris this year. They've been widely praised for the returns they got in each deal, acquiring both immediate help and future draft picks.
They earn high marks for leadership at every level: Steve Ballmer is not only the NBA's richest owner, but possibly its most passionate. Coach Doc Rivers, who won a championship in Boston, is universally respected. And rivals have high regard for the front office, led by team president Lawrence Frank, with Jerry West as a top consultant.
The Clippers project to have $57.5 million in cap room—enough to sign one max player with about $20 million to spare. They have the flexibility to sign one superstar (say, Leonard) and still retain veterans Danilo Gallinari, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, top pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and prospects Jerome Robinson and Landry Shamet, according to B/R cap expert Eric Pincus. It's possible they could also re-sign free agents Patrick Beverley and Ivica Zubac.

Re: 2019 & 2020 Free-Agents
Sustainable success is the key
Having a top notch FO with no bad deals on the books,a bunch of good young players, and incoming FRPs means a franchise that is primed for some big moves.
Having followed BRK a coupla years when Jeremy Lin was there (im a Lin fan, sadly nowadays his career looks to be over), i was amazed at how miraculously well they rebounded from the horrendous Billy King era. Stealing DLo from the hapless Lakers, making numerous excellent moves to open up cap space (Mozgov for expiring DHo), while also trading vets or eating contracts for FRPs (Thad Young, DeMarre Carroll, Bojan) and hitting on those late picks (Caris Levert, Jared Allen), all lead to BRK turning from worst team to a playoff team in 3 years since Sean Marks and Kenny Atkinson took over.
Only reason that the Clippers are ahead of the Nets in franchise appeal is due to having past prime superstar assets that were smartly traded before their value tanked in CP3 and Blake (although trading Blake hurt me pretty badly as he's one of my fave players). Really the major blemish that BRK has compared to LAC is that DLo needs to get maxed out now, and that really handcuffs their flexibiilty in adding more stars. LAC otoh have tons of cheap rookie contract players and high value cheap vets that can then be augmented by 2 superstars (assuming Gallo gets shipped out).
I mean, i guess theoretically BRK can renounce DLo and have 2 max slots opened up, but the Clippers remaining roster strength is just so much stronger in that case. Regardless BRK is in excellent position to be a serious contender if they keep playing their cards right for another season. Although they'll be approaching a salary crunch soon as Levert will need to be extended another season later.

I was surprised to see Howard Beck writing for Bleacher Report. He is a pretty big name writer.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.
