It's a big deal to me. I think he's turned a corner. If you ignore his shot, then whatever his other flaws, they're matched or outweighed by his positive attributes. 10 rebounds and 5 blocks last night. Against the Cavs, sure, but dayum.
If the shooting's legit, JJ's a good player. I may move like a sock in the wind, but plenty posters are too rigid in their thinking. If JJ can shoot, the story's completely different.
just read some of the "fans" here, its about the looks of his jump shot... if he shot the ball looking like Ray Allen, even if he was shooting 20% they'd think he's a good shooter
The team has been a losing team for 8 years or so, so fans here have become focused on the wrong things... using advance stats without context is dangerous, inefficient players become efficient players under a more stable system for instance, even good players under chaos will be inefficient
I think the lack of competitive seasons have really derailed how some fans here see the game... good looking shots now are favored over hustle and will that brings up the team's moral.... when in reality one does not make a good team but a combination of do
Some fans try to shoe horn Josh Jackson into someone that needs to be a "smooth" shooter when thats not him, heck some here would find a way to justify Jimmer getting minutes because of his shot over the better hustlers and players on the team
Good teams need players that fit next to each other, better yet, players that do things differently from each other... so No, the Suns dont need 4 Bookers on the court to be competitive
Its funny Bridges, whom I like, would shoot 0-8 with 30 minutes and some fans criticize Jackson freely while ignoring Bridges... or when Oubre shoots 25% but so does Booker, but Oubre gets the hate... its just fans basically supporting their favorite players rather than the team, and being fair to every player.
Cant wait for the next disappointing young player they draft because that kid is going to get hammered by some fans here if he doesnt have nice looking shot or if shoots a low percentage even though he's been scouted as a developing shooter
