A ‘hip pointer’ usually is a bone “bruise” on the iliac crest of the pelvis (or the hip joint itself) which may or may not be accompanied by a “bruise” VS “tear” (a tear is worse than a bruise) in the external oblique? Severity & therefore healing time varies. Can be 1 to EIGHT weeks.

Fuuuuuck.

Watched video in slo mo.
Looks like contact was not very intense.
Looks like he got zapped in the area of the left iliac crest.

We can only hope that this was an uncomplicated, low grade bone bruise on the iliac crest and/or a low grade bruise (NOT tear) in the adjacent external oblique muscle.
I am guessing they do an MR.
Hopefully, 6 days of intensive RX with get him ready for next Sunday.

This may turn out to be more consequential than Smart’s injury.

Looks like JT is also getting a MR tomorrow.

I'm more worried about Tatum then Smart right now. Tatum's seems too mysterious to me.

edit: GoCeltics123 said this was like last years Pacers game when we lost guys, that regular season game in March from hell.

Lets hope for good results tomorrow.

What Stevens said exactly.

https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2019/04/boston-celtics-injuries-brad-stevens-sounds-optimistic-about-jayson-tatum-marcus-smart.html

“Tatum had a shin contusion that evidently he had before the game, and I didn’t know about it," Stevens explained. "He just said it felt a little off when he jumped, so, you know, hopefully it’s nothing major but we’ll get it checked out tonight and tomorrow and we’ll go from there.”

There’s still some question about what exactly is bothering Tatum, but Stevens stressed there was no indication prior to the game that Tatum was hurt.

“It was never told to me as it was something that would keep him from playing,” Stevens told reporters. “he did the whole shoot-around this morning, he got warmed up, he did his whole workout, he felt great. I don’t know, for whatever reason when he -- when he jumped in the first quarter he felt it. I don’t know what it was.”

“Marcus Smart has an oblique bruise, which means he got hit right there," Stevens explained "I guess that’s better than a -- I don’t know whether it would be called, a strain or whatever, but we’ll see what that looks like tomorrow. He was a little sore but was walking around, which was good, in the locker room.”

Smart clearly collided with Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic, and there was a delayed reaction before he went down to the floor. He initially came back into the game, but then signaled for a substitution and fell the floor again.

“Art (Horne, the Celtics trainer) went over and talked to him and Smart said he was fine; said he was good to go back,” Stevens said. “Ran up the court once, ran back down the court, an obviously it -- he felt like it was spasming on the second trip down the court, so, obviously Art talked to him and Smart said he was fine.”

Lol, I have been an editor at a high level in many different subjects/fields and we all make the occasional mistake on here, Ex. This include you.

Soxfan2003 is generally the most consistently technically sound but even he **** up a fair amount. It is what it is.

That poster who kept earnestly saying Gordon Haywood should be ashamed though. That **** went on for a year or more and they were corrected almost every time.

You two are cute though.

Thing about Stress Fractures is that while they're bad, you can play through them if they're minor enough. Manu played through the 2014 playoffs with one in his fibula.

In case you can't tell, I'm really, really nervous about these two injuries.

Happens every year. Us and Philly have the worst injury luck in the freaking league.

I'm going to Game 1 against Indy too.

This does suck.
Though, Injuries occur 10% of the time, on average.

This has to be planned for, with capable Backup players.
Luckily, we have some pretty good Depth.

We also have about a week, before the 1st Playoff Game.

used to be we thought that people who went around correcting other people’s grammar were just plain annoying. Now there’s evidence they are actually ill, suffering from a type of obsessive-compulsive disorder/oppositional defiant disorder (OCD/ODD). Thanks for the information.
I think this may be one of the very few times that I have corrected someone in my years online.
I was just pissed about tonight’s injuries and displaced some of my rage (an established & very real psychological phenomenon).
BTW, if someone corrected my grammar accurately, I would actually thank them & learn from it.
This syndrome seems like yet another example of PC lunacy along the lines of toxic masculinity.

Hopefully home game on Sun is the first time they have to play again. I mean, besides the 7 or so short straws for the wiz. We may need to sign someone just to have an extra body for that game. Hopefully Yabu's foot is good:

Semi, Wanamaker, RJ, PJ, Williams, Yabu, FA signee.
Maybe Terry & Theis to get a little burn.

That should do it...

So many changes its ridiculous and like I said mad respect for ya but in this case where emoji and z replacing s and several other cases of even leaving out letters can still be read, cool science stuff I read but I digress. Sometimes auto correct is the Devil. I go to George Carlin on reprising word skit for truth but also its such a minor counter argument and really missed spelling is mostly harmless "42" Douglas adams reference lol.
