I don't think I've ever been less interested in a Final Four than this year. Total snoozefest, as was (besides Zion and Ja) the entire CBB season.

The Elite Eight was absolutely outstanding.

You missed some awesome games.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I think the reason for "down year/tournament" are:

1. Just a shallow class of stars.

2. NET seeding. This is somewhat ruining the early rounds. Now, there are still plenty of early upsets, but instead of having a 6/11 matchup that is a 2 point spread because RPI underrated the 11 seed, most of the spreads are correlated with the seeding (with the exception of Oregon (discussed on here) and Kansas State (also playing like crap like Wisconsin + key player out). There are still inaccuracies and a 6 point or even 12 point underdog can still win like any other year, but it makes it more likely that the better teams advance and we may see less and less cinderellas make it past the first weekend.

This will probably lead to better matchups in the 2nd and usually 3rd weekends, though. I agree with the last few posters on that. The Purdue/Virginia game and like all of the Duke games were spectacular just to name a few.

3. College basketball quickly adapted to the new rules and it's once again a race to who can play slowest (most efficiently). College players aren't good enough to thrive in a game where the rules are tailored to the offense.

The general fan got mad about "boring" 55-47 games 5 years ago and they shortened the shot clock and made it so they'd call more defensive fouls. The game sped up for a year or two and now teams have slowed it back down a bit, are back to trying to limit turnovers even more, and are foul-averse on defense. Duke and UNC can still pull it off with their talent if they want to but otherwise it's just a losing proposition to try to speed it up. Want to play "exciting" basketball? You're going to give up 5-6 points every game on a stupid turnover and touch fouls to the other team that is slowing it down and valuing the ball.

How cheap is cheap? Enjoy the game, I'll see ya there!

"Cheap" = barely over $100 with the stubhub fees included. I barely go to games anymore so I'll justify it for the experience. Obviously cheap to any other game/venue other than NFL or some major event like this is like $15.

Prices appear to be going back up. I bought my 2015 title game ticket around the same time I think for $180 in the nosebleeds because so many Badger fans drove down to Indy. I was trying to get a slightly nicer seat for this game but the group I'm with jumped on a really cheap set just to get in the door and whatever, I'll enjoy the experience. I sat lower level with student tickets for the Curry game against the Badgers in Detroit and sitting at the top of the lower level is even hilarious. Your sight line is directly into the temp jumbotron they bring in (not sure they do at US Bank for this one).

UW v Duke was the highest rated natty since 1999. And that's one to grow on.

I'm not really more than a casual Badger fan, but it's crazy how much NBA talent they faced in their back to back final four seasons compared to this year.

Haven’t watched but game looks grim judging by box score.

Both teams play suffocating defense. Also both teams hitting the majority of uncontested shots from the perimeter when they are getting them. Guy is a sniper for UV, I like his game a lot.

Shots at the actor aside, it was a pretty dumb, overplayed, and unfunny concept. A 1 off would have been fine, but having it air every break was absurd. Such a cash cow for the crooks at the NCAA (and CBS' profiting as a result).

I don't have an issue with the game as I'm finding it enjoyable. Yeah, no name schools, no flashy players, and slower pace (scoring more than I thought too), but still good.

Guy is wildly inconsistent. Not just in a “shooters gotta shoot/law of averages/that’s how it works” kind of way, either. I mean the dude will either go like 8-10 or 0-12.

I was torn on who to root for and I really just wanted to watch a great game, atleast that is shaping up nicely for me and anyone else feeling the same. Both teams have a lot of likable players and 2 likable coaches.

This is a great game and I also hate that the NCAA covered these nets in starch.
