I was impressed. I would love for Perry to get Hunter and Reddish to work out together for the knicks predraft.

He is as 3/D as your going to get. I wouldn't be opposed to him at 5. But he doesn't have higher upside than Culver.

Culver probably has more upside. But Hunter is like 3/D++. I say that because he looked super comfortable facing up and burying pull up J’s all season.

he was feeling it...be careful going off one game. He was struggling for much of the tourney.

Some of these guys can't stand a picking a 3/D guy in the lottery let alone 5 but now hunter drops nearly 30 and he's back on the top 5 radar.

I like hunter, I like him a lot. But he's limited. Doesn't do much of anything off the dribble and basically is a catch and shoot guy right now with elite defensive potential. He also will be 22 by the time the NBA season starts. He's not young.

It’s not about one game for Hunter. His splits this year were 52/42/79. Culver shot 37/106 in the Tourney. He literally channeled his inner Timmy. I love his defense, his passing is a + and he’s crafty enough around the hoop to make something happen. But his shooting is a major issue to go along with a legitimate lack of burst. Culver being 2 years younger is the one thing that stands out for me. Other than that I don’t see him on another tier than Hunter.

I never got the culver hype. Dude is really unimpressive.

Hunter on the other hand just vaulted into the top 5 imo.

Rj, Cam and Bol are the only others who have the potential to be special. I'll throw morant in that mix also even though I'm not really a fan of his game.

Benadryl knocked me out didn't even get to see the rest of the game

Was Culver guarding Hunter? Was Hunter guarding Culver?

Yes to both. And I was really impressed with Hunters lateral quickness along the perimeter. He must have very long arms as well because he was a big time disrupter with his length.

You, my friend are bolder than I am... because I was thinking it but didn't want to put myself out there.

No, I'm not saying Hunter will be an all NBA type ala Kawhi but he's a 2 way guy who can defend, hit the open shot, create for himself and is unselfish. Someone said Ron Artest - before he became Metta WP. I can also see that but I think Hunter will be better offensively.

The thing to keep in mind is that UVa plays a SLOW methodical pace - so Hunter's numbers aren't going to be all that great. But the kid can flat out play!! He was their best player last year as a freshman and he improved a lot over a year. Particularly in strength, conditioning and also knowing when to attack. He's very coachable to say the least!

Sidenote: What a remarkable story for these Cavaliers (losing to a 16 seed only to come back and win it all) who I've rooted for since the Lamp/Raker & Othell & Ricky days. This title is well-deserved regardless of how some want to say the referees helped them... I say to those- "Cry me a river"

This title feels so SWEET!!!! One of my bucket list items is crossed off... Now if the Knicks can win a title in my lifetime -- my sports bucket list will be complete!! Witnessed the Yanks along with the 'whispering' Cowboys win multiple.

coming from someone very high on reddish this is an interesting take. Culver out played Reddish by a very long margin on both ends all year.

I just believe cams talent will translate much better in the pro's. Its all about consistency for him. He has all the tools to be special.

Culvers just really meh for me. Yeah he did have a better year then cam but There's nothing special about his game. Nothing stands out when i watch him play.Thats not worth a top 5 pick imo.

I think once Cam gets actual NBA workouts and training he’ll explode. He just needs confidence and work. He has a sweet stroke, plays defense, just needs work, and to work hard.

Agree with you on this... which is why I think a return to Duke would help him tremendously. The worse thing he can do is leave while his confidence is lagging, stock has somewhat gone down and many questioning his validity as a top 5 pick.

How do you lack confidence playing with Zion and Barrett and a team that's supposed to be one of the better teams in college and out of the 3 you the oldest one?

I like Hunter as much as anyone after Zion, Ja and RJ. Seems like a safe, solid floor type pick. His game is well suited for todays NBA.

Obviously not with our first pick, but I think Jerome can carve out a nice NBA career as a good backup as a late first or 2nd rounder.

Well maybe that’s just our lucky break then if he falls to 5th and comes in with something to prove. I don’t like anybody else at the spot very much and he has the most upside

Cam is going to be an empty gym superstar. I like his theoretical skillset at the next level and I think there were some encouraging signs this year but I'd be lying if I wasn't scared chitless to draft that guy in the top 10.

Return to New York Knicks
