Cohen should have talked to Janis directly instead of writing second hand stuff. Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any "Janis declined to comment for this story". Lazy writing.

Should we care that he's "off-putting"? "He's a once in a lifetime talent!" "Yeah, but I heard he doesn't talk to his parents enough"

I used to shoo this stuff away, but there will be (maybe not anymore given only like 5 years left) when any player with a long career has a **** teammate or coach.

I don't think Rodgers is diva-level WR caliber team-wrecker, but a good quality is being able to get past that ****. Now, by most accounts, they weren't an atrocious team, but if any of this is true because of Rodgers' personality...yes, TT/Murphy should've acted on various things...but a great quality is being able to work past that.

I'm in the camp that Rodgers is like #3 or #4 on the list of problems we had, but if we lose a game here or there or a few teammates are alienated because of him -- that's not good.

A-Rod's the only one left (other than Murphy). If LaFleur is a good coach if any of this article about Rodgers' personality is true, we still have to be concerned that somewhere along the line, Rodgers can screw it up.

I think it comes down to how detrimental Rodgers being off-putting is to the team. If it's him demanding accountability, then that is on the individual player. Davante and Janis have already come out about how bogus two of the stories in the article are and the two guys who always criticize him are back for more. If it's him actively sabotaging plays because he doesn't like a WR or whatever, than that's a big problem.

I actually don't care. I think Tom Brady is a massive ****, but still pretty damn good.

Dunne. My mistake. I just reread the article. The Janis stuff was attributed to "a scout".

And now we know why he was not as good as he usually is last season. Everyone clamoring for him to be traded in WI can GTFO with those takes now about he was purposely bad to get McCarthy fired.

Yeah how hard would it have been to talk to Janis? The more I read this the more it looks like a total hit piece. I'm sure some elements of it are true but on the whole it's just a really poorly sourced article.

Also, I am guessing Elliot Wolf is salty about not getting the GM job and was one of the unnamed sources.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

There is certainly blame to go around. Absolving Rodgers would be a mistake. There are certainly more effective ways to carry yourself on the field.
Yea I agree he could have acted differently. But to put equal blame on AROD seems silly.

No, equal blame doesn't really exist in this situation and since we will never really have all the dialogue it's mostly speculation seen through the lens of each person's experience. Subjectively the whole thing was and could still continue to be a cluster f* if the board and Murphy don't try to change the culture. It has to come from the top for it to be most effective in my opinion. Coaching philosophy and player attitudes can certainly help. Who knows, maybe that's the way to change Murphy and the board's action in these cases - from the ground up. My guess is they (the board and Murphy) do nothing and it stays status quo.

I did think it was silly that in Dunne's article he sort of inferred that Rodgers is holding a grudge against being booed by fans. If he really was motivated by that would he sign contract extensions? Go to Badger/Bucks/Brewers games? Invest in WI sports teams? I don't think so.

I do think he needs a good coach and mentor to help him channel some unresolved emotional issues that at times seem to show up in how he treats those he feels are not meeting his expectations. I don't expect him to be perfect, but I hope that he can at least recognize (I think his comments show he does see them) and work on his shortcomings.

I also realize these are my thoughts and opinions and I don't have all the facts so take any of it with a grain of salt.

All this noise was kind of predictable. When a team and player (Rodgers) have a long run of success then it comes crashing down there are always going to be people waiting in the weeds ready to run negative pieces. It's the normal build them, rip them down, build them back up cycle that we see across all sports these days. Guys like Cowherd basically make their careers this cycle.

I did some work with Jennings his first couple of years in the league. I won't go into detail other than to say that he was always friendly. His wife and sister on the other hand...not so much.

And they were all influenced by this pos. http://archive.jsonline.com/news/crime/ex-sports-agent-who-sold-bogus-packers-tickets-sentenced-to-58-months-b99722743z1-378828041.html/

Why the **** did we let him play as long as he did if he had a broken leg?

Dunne did mention on Le Batard that some of his sources were in the FO - it's possible that one of them is Wolf - but someone from the current org had that thing about Murphy telling Rodgers "not to be the problem."

Nice to know the organization trotted out their qb behind a trash o line and limited offense with a broken leg and sprained knee. Should have **** sat him and tanked.

I'm assuming part 1 is available now on some streaming/podcast/download form of that show.

He's an odd one. He's ripped #12 and the Packers on many occasions, but then backtracks and calls him the GOAT and says how he's still invested in the Packers, etc. He's out there.

Thank God we got the win against the Jets, real season changer.
