Re: Shams: Magic Johnson steps down as Lakers President of Basketball Operations
He drafted Ball and his daddy then traded Russell for cap space. Russell led his team to the playoffs as an all-star while LA ended far back from the playoff chase despite getting Lebron. That will get you fired....LoveMyRaps wrote:this dude f***ed up the team and just left looooooool

Lakers didnt make this decision. Magic himself did.
Sure...This is just a face saving move. He's a Laker legend, they're not going to just announce firing the guy.

Lakers are far better off than when Jim Buss was running things. They have Lebron, tons of trade pieces, and a max slot. I mean yeh, the Zu trade was garbage, but I think Magic is being made a scapegoat for Klutch. Don't blame him stepping down.
I believe LeBron was coming to LA no matter what and if you take that away what has Magic done exactly?
Him stepping down like that (+that WOJ tweet about his commitment) says it all about his work
He took on a job he couldn't handle on a whim and left the same
Magic was definitely part of why Born came to LA. And the cap space was cleared up by magic/Pelinka too. Draft picks were solid also. Magic wasn't the best, but not the worst either.

Never seen an NBA executive with this level of arrogance, overconfidence and ego since Phil Jackson. Those two are in a different league as far as POBOs are concerned.
