Pretty sure that Lebron is dead to Dan Gilbert and vice versa. They will play nice in public and Lebron may come back for a feel good, PR retirement wearing a Cleveland uniform but I highly doubt Lebron ever plays another meaningful basketball minute for Cleveland.

We're already seeing some inklings of Lakers entitlement with the delusion that they think they can just get Jerry West if they feel like it.

Yep. Shaq was saying it flat out on TNT and Candace was like “good idea Shaq - that would be great”. Implied they should just walk across the hall and get him.

I do think there might be something more to this though.

I think it's because he can't bring himself to fire someone. He's always been the nice guy. He probably never has had to fire someone in a professional setting. Firing someone is not an easy thing to do. With him knowing how much Jeanie likes Luke, it makes it tougher.

Given the timing that Luke would probably need to go tonight, he probably just couldn't do it...and knew if he couldn't do something he was planning to do, he should step down.

If that were true, then he needs to quit face to face. He says Jeanie is like a sister, but if I were that close to someone and I was quiting, I wouldn't humiliate the franchise on the way out. If you want to play that card then you need to do the hard thing and quit in person.

This is a surprise. I switched to NBA TV to hopefully see game action of Memphis at Detroit and I see this. I'm stunned Magic Johnson is stepping down. Maybe he sees a not so good free agency for The Lakers this summer.
