Come on. Let’s all be honest. Phil as GM would be just too good to pass up. Soooo much entertainment value.

lol.

Cleveland better not trade them their pick and Sexton for LeBron...that’s all I’m saying.

Pretty sure that Lebron is dead to Dan Gilbert and vice versa. They will play nice in public and Lebron may come back for a feel good, PR retirement wearing a Cleveland uniform but I highly doubt Lebron ever plays another meaningful basketball minute for Cleveland.

The bigger issue is Rodney McGruder won't be playoff eligible for the Clips.

But LAL resurgance SAS, Max, ESPN, Shannon Sharpe, Fannies?

Oh. Okay... This honestly is the best thing for LAL and was probable to happen,

Because it would of happened mid-season next year or next summer after LAL disappoints again, without a championship-level roster (regardless of GS).

Yep. Shaq was saying it flat out on TNT and Candace was like “good idea Shaq - that would be great”. Implied they should just walk across the hall and get him.

So entitled. You almost feel bad for them and their associates/fans say stuff like this and that puts and end to all sympathy.

And doesn’t he have other businesses that he leads? How could he never have had to fire someone before. That doesn’t make sense to me.

I think we just found out that Magic is the luckiest guy in the world who just seemingly smiles while people throw money at him.

I'm confused as well, people described him as a businessman

spoiled billionaire who quit on a job he never deserved to have in the first place? yea, im good.

i mean, yeah, all those things are true. i just feel bad his image has taken such a plummet and he's basically now looked at as a clown (which to be clear, he is). it's sad to see a guy **** up his own image like that, for me at least.

To all Laker fans who keep saying the Lakers should get Jerry West - even ignoring the fact that Jerry West is already working on his own project and he's too valuable of a commodity to care about the Lakers (shocking I know)

1) Jerry West has no interest in being a president or he would be a president already.

2) If Jerry friggin West wanted to advise the Lakers, he would be advising the Lakers already.

For those laughing at the Lakers. This was a much better outcome for them. Magic is not a great evaluator of talent. That was proven. I am happy

I think it's because he can't bring himself to fire someone. He's always been the nice guy. He probably never has had to fire someone in a professional setting. Firing someone is not an easy thing to do. With him knowing how much Jeanie likes Luke, it makes it tougher.

Given the timing that Luke would probably need to go tonight, he probably just couldn't do it...and knew if he couldn't do something he was planning to do, he should step down.

If that were true, then he needs to quit face to face. He says Jeanie is like a sister, but if I were that close to someone and I was quiting, I wouldn't humiliate the franchise on the way out. If you want to play that card then you need to do the hard thing and quit in person.

Karma is a bitch.

Lets be real, Russell would never be the player he is right now if he was still a laker, he'd still be the same quasi combo guard whose shooting is only marginally better than the rest of his teammates.

I'm very happy that Magic traded Russell to the Nets.

What he didn't need to do, is muddy the waters when the kid was already out the door. That was unprofessional and that behavior was clearly not an outlier as tonight's **** show continues to unfold.

I can agree with that. He threw Russell under the bus whilst not blaming Nick Young for doing something even worse.

So are Laker fans happy? Many have literally said Magic sucks, so this is a good development, no?

And how long are the Buss kids going to get a pass?

yeah dude, let's bump this thread again when West joins the Lakers this off season.

Or what - you think because Jerry West's son has a minor role in the Lakers franchise he's gonna go crawling into the Lakers office? Like he gives a ****.
