Surround your superstar shot creators with shooters who can play off ball and defend.

The flaw in this mindset is neither KD nor Kyrie are the elite vision passers that Lebron and Draymond are.

They don’t need to be elite. They’re good enough and much better shooters/scorers.

So why not let them do what they do best. Shoot/score?

Quite possibly could be tbh. Cuz when we had those two the overwhelming majority here were celebrating

want to keep this focused on the draft and trades that relate to the draft but KD/Kyrie avg a combined 13 assits this year. They are so much better distributors than Melo/Amare pair. Also if you add in a Zion/Barrett/Culver via the draft who can all make plays with the ball or you could even add in a player like frank as the 2-guard that moves the ball (even if that is an unpopular choice). That is plenty of ball movement in my eyes.

Aaron Gordon is an interesting name and a cool choice to include in the conversation, for all the reasons you listed.

As far as the "he does or doesn't spread the floor" debate - I say he can, but he's not elite. I get that. But for those against Gordon as a shooter, why does it have to be that he spreads the floor for Durant and Kyrie? I mean, I get it, the more spacing the better, but Gordon isn't some old school C/PF planted in the paint. Conversely, Durant and Kyrie aren't drive heavy, score inside, drive and kick guys. They score all over and are good shooters. Durant being excellent. Gordon could spend time near the paint making short jumpers while Durant and Kyrie keep the defense spaced, while he's still capable of knocking down perimeter shots.

It's intriguing considering the Knicks need a 4.

Isaac is a long way from finding his way offensively. What you keep forgetting is KD/Kyrie are going to want some guys who are ready for battle right now. Feel me?

I actually like your Gordon scenario. His all around game has improved a lot. I don't think the Magic are moving either Isaac or Gordon though. They played well off of each other down the stretch. They need a PG and to figure out whether they pay Vuc or wait on Bamba.

i mean I get the battle right now. Which is why I can believe going after guys like AD/Lillard/Beal. But AD isn't there right now either. He still is a so-so shooter. A solid defender but he isn't a game changer like the above 3 I mentioned that would be "ready to battle right now" so much so that Deandre Hunter could do what you want Aaron Gordon to do on a team with Kyrie/KD.

I forgot they acquired Fultz. If he gets his shoulder/head together he may be their solution.

sure by themselves Culver seems the better player since he's a better creator and defender.
But in the NBA I dont have a ton of faith in his ability to get his shot off

My biggest concern for the draft lottery is a team jumping in front of knicks like the hawks or cavs getting number 1 pick to select zion. I could see silver gifting wrapping the number 1 pick to the hawks because of there young core trae young, heuter and collins. If the hawks get number 1 they will pick zion without a doubt then i could see hawks using there 7 pick on bol bol the center from oregon. My biggest fear is the cavs winning the lottery and getting number 1 pick and they pick zion they get franchise player to replace lebron they are always lucky come draft time. I am not concerned the suns or the bulls get number 1 pick those 2 places are bunch of dumpster fires i don't think silver wants zion on either of those teams. The suns and bulls have both bad coaches, bad management, and bad owners.
