No, that's out of reach. We have a tiebreaker over Clippers.

OKC finish last in a 3 way tie with the Spurs and LAC.

Yes we can because of the 3 team tiebreaker rules. Kiss is right

Haven't we won the season series vs the Clips?

No, 2-2

Tiebreaker Basis - Three or More Teams Tied

(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)

(2) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams (Clippers/Spurs have a better winning percentage because they are 2-2 against each other this season and we are 1-2 against the Spurs)

I think you are wrong. According to this, we can't be 8th seed no more:

Western Conference matchups: (source: http://www.playoffstatus.com/nba/westernstandings.html)

Mavericks @ Spurs (8:00 pm EST) <Prediction: Spurs win>
- Spurs secure the 6th seed with a Spurs victory AND a Thunder loss
- Spurs secure the 7th seed with a Spurs victory OR a Clippers loss
- Spurs secure the 8th seed with a Clippers victory AND one of: Thunder victory OR Spurs loss

Thunder @ Bucks (8:00 pm EST) <Prediction: Thunder win>
- Not important to the Eastern Conference playoff race
- Thunder secure the 6th seed with a Thunder victory OR a Mavericks victory
- Otherwise, Thunder secure the 7th seed
- Thunder can only be in 6th or 7th seed

Warriors @ Grizzlies (8:00 pm EST) <Prediction: Warriors win>
- Not important to the Western Conference playoff race

Timberwolves @ Nuggets (10:30 pm EST) <Prediction: Nuggets win>
- Nuggets secure 2nd seed with a Nuggets victory tonight
- Otherwise, Nuggets secure 3rd seed

Jazz @ Clippers (10:30 pm EST) [ESPN] <Prediction: Jazz win>
- Jazz are already locked into 5th seed
- Clippers secure 7th seed with a Clippers victory AND a Mavericks victory
- Otherwise, Clippers secure 8th seed

Kings @ Trail Blazers (10:30 pm EST) <Prediction: Trail Blazers win>
- Trail Blazers secure the 3rd seed with a Trail Blazers victory AND a Nuggets victory
- Otherwise, Trail Blazers secure the 4th seed

If Nuggets, Spurs and Clippers win and Trail Blazers and Thunder lose

1) Warriors vs. 8) Thunder
4) Trail Blazers vs. 5) Jazz
3) Rockets vs. 6) Spurs
2) Nuggets vs. 7) Clippers

The same SI article says that we hold a tiebreaker against the Clippers. So even if we lose and Clips win, how can we be the 8th seed?

Do you have any on-off numbers of Schroder vs Ferguson since the all star break? Seems like Schroder is taking more and more minutes from Ferguson over the course of the season. Ferg had a rough stretch (but so did Schroder) so I'm not sure how that's working out, especially defensively.

The starters have been garbage defensively, no way around it.

Wow, when Schroder is carrying your defense you got a problem.

We hold the tiebreaker against the Clippers but in case of a 3 team tiebreak, the rules are different (rules are different if it's a 2 OR 3 team tiebreak) In case of a 3 teams tiebreak, the Clippers holds the tiebreak over us (not if it's a 2 team tiebreak)

Can't explain more than that... sorry :(

If we lose, Spurs win and Clippers lose = we are 7th
If we lose, Clippers win and Spurs lose = We are 6th
If we lose and they both win = we are 8th

I love that nobody is discussing the fact that grant is looking extremely good heading into the playoffs, and how huge it could be. If he's knocking down wide open 3s, they become alot harder to defend, especially if Ferguson can hit a few as well. Grant looks the best he ever has shooting the ball right now.

George has admitted he's been avoiding contact on that shoulder according to the broadcast last night. It's been noticeable on his drives. Hopefully he gets back to being more physical in the playoffs. They will be a tough out playing a fast paced, up and down style, dictated by Westbrook forcing that pace on the game.

That should tell you how hurt he actually is and they have still been playing him.

It's pretty clear that he's really hurt and won't come back 100% before next season. That's why I really want to play the Blazers because it's our only shot to win a series.

With the way this team was playing, getting the sixth seed feels like an accomplishment. I never would have put money on them winning out but here they are. Granted the only game they probably should have lost during this stretch was the Houston game, but still impressive nonetheless considering they lost to Memphis and Dallas not too long ago.

And Miami. Don't forget getting handily beat at home by a below average Heat team.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:
