Bring on Portland, like our chances against them depleted in 7 game series ...

With the way this team was playing, getting the sixth seed feels like an accomplishment. I never would have put money on them winning out but here they are. Granted the only game they probably should have lost during this stretch was the Houston game, but still impressive nonetheless considering they lost to Memphis and Dallas not too long ago.

And Miami. Don't forget getting handily beat at home by a below average Heat team.

How in the world did Portland win?
They were getting stomped when I checked in and looked like they were tanking the game.
Are they happy with that result?

This is gonna be Westbrook's best chance to win a playoff series without KD for the first time in his career. Portland is going to be playing Kanter who the OKC coaching staff knows how to expose in the playoffs.

With no Nurkic and having to prepare for much more formidable opponents in the next round, Thunder need to wrap this up in 5 games or less. I expect Dame to have one crazy super high scoring game which can win them one but that should be it.

I want to see OKC vs Denver, I think that will be the best playoff series this season even better than a potential Houston/Golden State in the semi finals.

Well at least it's not Houston. They have a shot even if it's likely a close series. Props to Portland for playing this well of late, I like both teams so won't feel as bad after it as seeing Houston go nuts and win in 5 over a team I like instead.

Both teams have struggled to get out of the first round.

One will get out this year.

Damn we are so lucky to play the Blazers (not Denver or Houston). I respect the Blazers a lot and don't think the 4-0 this year means anything, but Nurkic was such an important piece for them.
First time since cupcake left that we are favorite to win a series. Would be REALLY disappointed if we can't get advance to the second round (still think it will go to 6 games or something like that, they are a good team and have HCA)

Finally some positive vibes on this forum. I know the past 2 months have been tough being a thunder fan but it was ridiculous people were talking about trading everyone and rebuilding when we have Russell Westbrook and Paul George in our roster.
Let's go! We finally have a chance in the play offs after cupcake.

Nothing shuts up the naysayers like the third highest payroll locking down the six seed on game 82. FWIW, we may sweep Portland or get swept by Portland. I wouldn't be surprised either way. However this team has done nothing to dispel the criticism they rightly deserved for their post all star break performances.

Highest luxury tax in the NBA doesn't matter. WE'RE NUMBER NINE! Ok, we are 9/10 tied with Boston, but we're happy about it! WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!! We don't have home court and the playoffs is when Billy finds new and creative ways to blow games, but THIS IS OUR YEAR!!! We'll go as far as our seeding says we should!!! THUNDER UP!!! Ignore PG being hurt that doesn't matter because he's going to be Playoff P just like he was last year! It's going to be great!

You sound really upset that OKC got an incredible draw with a legit chance to make it to WCF.

You probably need to take a break from all of this stuff.

You never know. I didn't think we were going to make the WCF in 16 either. That's why this stuff is determined on the floor. We literally got the best draw we could have. Relax. Enjoy it.

very fortunate seeding. wcf a possibility if all goes right. would have been very remote possibility in any other realistic seeding arrangement imo.

hopefully they do not squander it.

What do you want? To root against OKC?

We all know our issues. 6th in the West, PG13 injured, lack of depth, bad coaching. Somehow we got lucky and IF (big if) the players play well and PG13 is semi healthy, we have a shot to go to the WCF. I mean, it's pretty normal to root for our team even if we know all the issues we are dealing with (otherwise I wouldn't watch a game anymore and I wonder why u are still losing time on this forum)

Obviously we need some changes for the future (Joerger to OKC would be a nice start)

Well, this is it. We are at the point where we have an open seeding onto WCF, which would be a success if Warriors outplay us there.
Other option is, if we lose before WCF, 1st or 2nd round, fire Donovan, 3rd straight season exit too early, hope coaching change and some shooting can turn it around.

And the last option, if we lose before WCF, embrace the tank and trade Adams, RW, George, Schroder and say goodbye for 4 seasons.

Which one is it ?

Well if we lose round 1 it's easy to make a case to fire Donovan. If we lose in the second round in 6 games against Denver, not so much (I want him gone but need to be fair...)

I'm saying this but I'm all for Joerger to OKC :)

If OKC loses to Portland without Nurkic in the first round, Donovan should be fired the very next day.
I'm tired of watching this team be held back from great things due 75% to coaching

I thought Denver handled OKC in the regular season. Confident of beating them in a second round matchup?

Why Joerger? He has several talented young players on the Kings who all took leaps this year. But they don't play defense.
