I would be shocked if Bembry was moved, shocked. Taurean is the wing that's going to get moved imo.

I like Bembry and think Coach likes him too. He reminds me of Thabo; a jack of all trades, master of none. Bembry is almost a perfect role player who can start in a pinch if a starter misses some time.

I see him as our Marcus Smart (without the short fuse). He'll be reckless at times and brick open jumpers, but he'll also make plays all over the court and do the dirty work.

He's playing his best most consistent basketball. At his young age, makes all of the sense to keep him.

Bembry with a 3 pt foul to cost us the game and a good ending for the season.

All honesty I don't see what people see on him. I see an extremely erratic player who confuses activity with effectiveness, and whose ambitions trumps his ability.

Here are his career stats:

Terrible from 3, terrible from the FT stripe, terrible shooting efficiency in general, absurdly high TOV rates, high rate of personal fouls, poor assist rates given his usage, and average rebounding.

If he wasn't on the Hawks there is 0% chance you guys would be talking about him positively. He is a fringe rotation player, and that we gave him almost 2000 MP this season is an indictment on us as a team.

These are really good points, all. I do like Bembry, but it's difficult to argue with his inefficiency this year and in years past.

I see him as a less talented Marcus Smart who can be a solid role player on a miniscule deal moving forward.

But I agree If he weren't already here, there's no way most fans here would be clamoring to bring him in.

He's one of the most fluid and explosive athletes in the league, with one of the best motors, and he has enough skills to work with. That's a good player to have on a cheap deal under a strong developmental coach. Decision-making and shooting can be improved.

Bembry definitely made in season improvements this year. His three point percentage tanked, but his free throw shooting and finishing at the rim improved. He's definitely our best defender so I don't get where someone would say he just has a lot of energy. He comes up with tons of steals that come from great defensive awareness. If you consider, he's only PLAYED in 64 games before this year and he has not had full healthy off seasons to train, you see a lot of improvement and there's still plenty of improvement to be made.

The foul last night wasn't smart, however, it doesn't take away from some of the good defensive work Bembry did throughout the season. He still has A LOT of improving to do, but to me, he's a jack of all trades, master of none type player.

He's an idiot with zero basketball IQ, always has been. If all this team does this offseason is replace Bembry and Bazemore with rookie wings I would consider that a successful offseason.

And 25 is old? His best basketball is still ahead of him not behind him.

Compared to our core players age 21-22? Yes. 25 is indeed old.

Plus we have 5 draft picks that will each likely bring in players within that same 19-21 age range, so a 25 year old might not fit what we're looking for moving forward.

He doesn't bring the veteran leadership of an elder statesman like Vince Carter or Jeremy Lin.

He isn't a proven contributor.

He has little to no upside.

And most of the draftees we're considering in the top-10 of this draft play his position (SG/SF).

I really like Bembry, but it won't make much difference at all if he comes back in 2020 or 2021.

Bembry is just frustrating. He probably led the league in steal/re-steal because of his bone headedness. I guess I would keep him at a discounted rate though and hope that he gets smarter!

I like Bemby's motor and aggressiveness. I think our players feed off of him. He is a mini enforcer with some pretty hard fouls on players who are at times a lot bigger than him.

He is a role player and can start in a pinch.

He's cheap, has potential to be a quality 8th man. Problem is he has too much responsibility on offense for us right now, if we move a few players ahead of him on the pecking order I think he'll look better.

Yea I like him the way I liked Baze in the 60 win team. A guy that can come in play 10-15 minutes and give you a couple of hustle plays that can energize the team.

The only thing I'll say is that the next time he fouls a guy while attempting a three-point shot, there might be some fans rushing to tackle him. Just saying...

Always loved Bembry and I just liked all the recent posts killing him. Some funny stuff. Peoria, he damn sure steals/turns with the best of em lol.

He’s one of the foremost players in the league who far outplay his singular advanced metrics imo. The team on/offs illustrate what I and CLP see to an extent:

http://www.82games.com/1819/1819ATL.HTM

Of the 8 most played lineups, Bembry was in both lineups that outscored opponents per 100 (one being the Death Lineup including Len/Adams/Baze/Vince) and in none of the 6 negative lineups.

Pierce loves Bembry, and was arguably more vocal about his love for Bembry than anyone else on the roster over the course of the year. It would be a surprise to not see Bembry on the roster opening night.

In fact... you heard it here first(?)... if Schlenk drafts a PG, you might even see Bembry begin taking on a more static role at PG in training camp... a shift from a wing who can play PG if asked to a a PG who can play wing if asked.

I shudder at the thought of Bembry having more ball handling responsibilities rather than less
