Not perfect - certainly not Pat Summit - but seems like she's done alright.
Mean to players. Never coaches up defensively. Played a short bench despite good depth.

That championship was 2007. Tolliver, Coleman, Langhorne, and Harper won as freshmen and sophomores but didn't get better over their college career.

Not sure about that. Didn't they all end up in the WNBA in some form or fashion. I don't hate Brenda. She brought Maryland a championship and is a great recruiter. If she is so f-ing mean, why does she continue to get player after player? Five-star after five-star? Top 5 and top 10 recruiting classes? I'm not saying I'm a fan of her coaching style or her x's and o's but the record speaks for itself.

She's 457-123 at Maryland. Has won over 500 games before 50. If she wants to leave for Tennessee, I don't blame her. Maryland can't draw flies for women's basketball. The AD is in shambles right now. Tennessee at least has a history of supporting women's basketball, selling out a huge arena (maybe not now). Just read they average around 8,000+ per game, which is still nearly twice what Maryland averages. Seeing less than 4,000 at the home game against UCLA could be the final straw.

This is remarkable. She obviously needs another Jeff Waltz on her staff for coaching because she's the best recruiter in the nation.

Same reason why a lot of preachers of mega-churches can get 20K followers BEFORE the great fall.

She's charismatic. She's persuasive. SHE CLEARLY BELIEVES HER OWN HYPE.
Bye bye Beal.

Brenda is overrated. Great recruiting and average quality coaching.

Personally, I'm not even mad.

This was always going to be a transition year.

This team had some weaknesses.

Lack of depth in the frontcourt And a big time pg.

Won't have any of those issues next season.

Could be our most talented team since the championship team.

Basically, just chill out and you'll see.

PS: Google these four names and you'll get it.

Ashley Owusu, Zoe Young, Diamond Miller & Faith Masonius.

Yeah......

Keep it positive

Ashley Owusu

On Thursday, Owusu was named to the McDonald’s all-American game. Panthers Coach Scott Allen made a surprise announcement at the end of practice, and the senior was mobbed by ecstatic teammates.

On Friday night, she showed why she deserved one of the 24 spots bestowed to the best girls’ basketball players in the country as she scored 22 points and led the No. 10 Panthers to a 69-60 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference win over No. 11 Bishop Ireton.

“Everyone’s just been so happy for me; it’s been great,” Owusu said.

Owusu, a Maryland signee....

Zoe Young

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/basketball/2017/08/15/top-recruit-zoe-young-finds-iowa-connection-maryland-basketball/570887001/

The West Des Moines Valley junior-to-be — one of the state's top basketball recruits in recent years and listed by several websites as one of the nation's top prospects — announced on Twitter on Monday that she plans to play at national powerhouse Maryland.

The Terrapins are coached by Brenda Frese, a Cedar Rapids native who led Washington High School to a state championship in 1988.

Frese's parents still live in Iowa and came along on a visit when Frese scouted Young at a game last winter.

The message — coach and future player both have Iowa ties.

"The fact that we had that connection, I thought that was really cool," Young told the Register on Tuesday.

Young said she'd received 38 scholarship offers from across the country.

Diamond Miller

(Diamond Stone...She's going to be around longer. Wizardspride, YES, she can ball!)

https://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/sports/high-school/basketball/2019/01/30/girls-basketball-franklins-diamond-miller-honored-all-american-selection/2728128002/

Miller is one of only 24 girls basketball players in the country to be named to the prestigious McDonald’s All-American game, giving the state of New Jersey its lone representative in the contest, scheduled for March 28 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The Warriors’ all-time leading scorer, who broke the 2,000-point mark last week, is enjoying another stellar year. The reigning Courier News Girls Basketball Player of the Year already has led Franklin to back-to-back appearances in the state Tournament of Champions final, winning it two years ago, and now, with the club entering Thursday’s action 15-0, it looks like a return trip could be on the horizon.

Miller, who is committed to the University of Maryland, is averaging 22.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, carrying a career average of 20.1 points per contest. Now, she’s not only being recognized as one of NJ’s top players, but one of the nation’s.

Faith Maisonius

The middle of 10 children. She's not real athletic. BUT, she looks like she WILL fight. I like this girl. The only problem: Brenda Frese will probably play her 30 minutes EVERY GAME. RIGHT AWAY. Yes, I'm suggesting something NOT PC.

KEEP IT POSITIVE <TALKING TO MYSELF>

BRENDA RECRUITED MIKESELL, WHO IS A GOOD PLAYER!

I've done my best to be balanced. If Brenda returns, I wish all these girls the best. You HAVE TO PLAY THE ENTIRE TEAM SOME WHEN YOU RECRUIT 5 stars. COACH K is a master at this.

P.S.

THIS SEASON, depending upon how you judge, the Lady Terrapins failed to win the B1G Tournament and they failed to advance past the round of 32. I'm disappointed because I think they DID NOT MAXIMIZE their talent. HOWEVER, I've been very critical. Maybe, just maybe, this is all they had and the very best that they could have done.
Bye bye Beal.

Rare good news for Maryland basketball with Sticks coming back. The heat will really be on Turge next season because they will have good depth at all five spots, assuming both Mitchell twins are ready to play. Donta Scott adds another quality 3-man.

Great news - and a smart decision. On the recruits, I'm just worried about shooting ability. Scott sounds like a bigger version of Morsell. Hopefully the twins can make 3's.
