I think that reaction is more due to the fact that they fired their coach not too long before.

I hope there is a presser at some point.
I don't mind this. Keep Jones in the higher position to keep the players happy in this superstar controlled league, but hire a X's and O's guy to come up with trade ideas and draft picks.
This is actually how it should have been structured with McDonough. I loved McDonough's creativity, we just needed someone like Jones as the face of the team and to keep McDonough in line from time to time.
+1
McD seemed far more like assistant GM material (like Bukstein) who's creative, understands the salary cap well but in terms of actual team building abilities, understanding nuances of working the phone with veteran GM's and being a personable "face" of the front office, I get a feeling having a true vet like Bower and a decorated and respected former player like Jones just fills that front office better.
Agree with all this. I am happy with the Bower hire. I am fine Babby helped - he is not GM. Just interviewing people. He knows the culture, Sarver, it’s fine

Babby bringing in the guy to help make the choice...what could go wrong?

I don't mind as long as Babby isn't influencing decisions on a regular basis.

Firing their coach and getting a completely new front office makes it easier for Conley and the organization to transition towards a rebuild. I have no doubt that Conley will be traded this offseason.
I really don’t want to see him going to the Jazz but they seemed to have the best offer at the trade deadline. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if the Magic made a better offer since they made the playoffs. I know they traded for Fultz but he hasn’t added to their success this year and they might be willing to let him go to complete their rebuild. Plus, Conley would likely make Gordon, Isaacs, and Bamba look a lot better.
*edit*
Conley could also be talking about how the Kings fired Dave Joerger even after they had a pretty successful season. Kind of a head scratcher IMO.

I wonder if they would want Josh and the Suns 2nd
Jazz get Conley
Suns get Rubio (if Igor is coach )
I think the Grizz kept the pick

I don't know if Amin is still bitter that the Suns fired him or he's telling the truth but could someone tell me if its true that Larry Fitzgerald conducted the interviews for the VP of Basketball Operation position. SMH

James Jones didn't say much specific about his roster change goals during his last interview w/AZSports, but he did mention wanting to add some toughness at the 4 next to Ayton. Which was nice, because I agree.

Said it before and I'll say it again Bogan Bogdanovic. A sharp shooter and underrated defender.

Even broken records in the shot blocking department this year. I've read he will probably get a pretty huge contract.

Rubio is a free agent. I won't be surprised if Indiana makes a play for Conley either. Though with the success they've had with Collison they may just try and keep him since they will have to probably pay Bogey maybe upper teens (their beat writer though maybe 18-20) and Sabonis probably 20 a year (his estimate as well). But they are a team that might want to use their cap space to sign someone outright, or make a trade to absorb someone and then go over cap to re-sign their own guys.

please no more Rubio talk that guy is so over rated on this board, he is a below average point guard and Rudy Gobert being 7"3 and going up and getting everything inflates his assists greatly. He cant hit the broad side of a barn.

Yeah I also pegged Indiana as the team likely to trade for Conley. Utah has almost nothing interesting to offer. Orlando has a few pieces and could offer their own first this year which would be pretty good value. I do think a Suns package makes a ton of sense, but don’t get the impression that Conley is someone who our front office would consider. Jones was very specific about the age range they were looking at... but Conley just had a great season so who knows. I like the idea of him as a transitional PG for our timeline. He won’t impact who we draft and would clarify our needs when free agency begins.

Wonder if this was before or after him and his friends gangraped a woman and claimed that it was her fantasy instead.
Seriously though, I used to love Derrick Rose and would watch his games and highlights on the daily back in the day. But the rape case changed it all, especially after the evidence and testimonies came out.
