Has any team ever had a worse week than the Lakers have had?

Post#1 » by contestedlayups » Sat Apr 13, 2019 12:31 am

Seriously. Been a rough week for LakerNation.

1. Big Baller Brand shuts down.
2. Magic quits, trying to help Luke Walton not get fired.
3. Lose the last game of the year on a buzzer beater by Moe Harkless of all people.
4. No one wants to film Space Jam 2 with Lebron.
5. Walton gets fired anyway.
6. Reports say that Lonzo tried to have secret surgery in Ohio and didn't tell Magic until he was there.

Yikes.

What's so bad about Big Baller Brand shutting down?

2 of those things are good
1 of them is completely meaningless
1 of them has nothing to do with basketball
1 of them just proves why 2 of these things are good

I guess the only bad thing is Walton being fired but there have been far worse coach firings, even this week.

365 days of being a Bull is way worse.

That's not the bad news. The bad news (for Laker fans) is the headline:

"Tyronn Lue Considered Strong Frontrunner To Become Head Coach Of Lakers"

But, good news for the rest of the league.

Week's not over yet

You might have to add:

- Hire Tyron Lue or Jason Kidd as a head coach

Yes.
Shaq leaves Orlando in free agency is way worse.
I could probably come up with at least 20 other examples if I bothered to do the research.

We're STILL good. I dont know if you guys noted, but Magic wasnt a good executive, and believe it or not, Walton didnt showed anything to make me consider him a good coach, his rotations were atrocious. I couldnt care less about BBB.
The problem will be who will replace those guys. Then, Im beting we will have a bad week.

I can’t be the only one that thinks Magic up and leaving like that on his own, is a HUGE blessing for the Lakers.

And if you go 2 months back, you can include:

-Gave away Zubat for some dude named Mike something
-Failed AD trade destroys team chemistry

You may be right, but it's not because of any of those reasons. Magic quitting was fantastic and created a great opportunity to reset the front office.

The problem is Jeannie doesn't know what she's doing and listens to the wrong people. Pelinka is a snake. And now he's running the Lakers. And that is a disaster.

This is worse than anything on that list. Not that I expect him to be some all star, but a serviceable big for a bad player.

I guess lonzo needing ankle surgery is bad news in and of itself, but
most of that list is otherwise positive or irrelevant. Magic was horrible. Luke the jury was still out. BBB is probably the reason Lonzo needs ankle surgery. Losing as an already lottery team is irrelevant or sometimes useful if increasing lottery pick.

Basically any team losing a free agent for nothing is a far worse week.

Depending on how the Lakers proceed, what’s so bad about having Magic out of the front office? Don’t think many people thought he was all that good at his job.

As a Lakers fan, the only really troubling headline/development are reports that Rob Pelinka is gaining more responsibility including leading the coaching search.

In other semi-Lakers related news...
7. James Worthy’s dog got out of the yard
8. 405 is jammed both ways
9. Popeyes on Figueroa ran out of spicy dark meat
10. After reviewing the stats it turns out Ice Cube only had 9 assists last week

365 days of being a Bull is way worse.

Or 120 years of being the Cubs, or however long it took them to finally do what the Lakers have done 16 times and counting.
